Amer Fort, also known as Amber Palace, is situated in Amer, Rajasthan, India.\n\nThe current form of Amer Fort was constructed on top of an earlier edifice during the tenure of Raja Man Singh, the Kachwaha monarch of Amber. The initial phase of construction began in 1592.\n\nRaja Man Singh’s successor, Jai Singh I, further expanded the fort. Subsequent rulers continued to enhance and augment Amer Fort for the next century and a half, until the Kachwaha dynasty moved their seat of power to Jaipur in 1727 under Sawai Jai Singh II. The fort is celebrated for its artistic Hindu design features, including its vast defensive walls, multiple entryways, and paved pathways, all overlooking the Maota Lake.\n\nThe fort’s grandiose palace complex is composed of soft yellow and pink sandstone, along with white marble.
