Highlights
  • Costa Rica Waterfall Tours - After a short drive from Jaco beach you will arrive at our base camp and let’s hop in our 4×4 safari vehicles and drive up the mountain over 1000’ to get to our private reserve. Your guide will stop along the way to point out interesting flora and fauna and the incredible views of the ocean and countryside.

After a short (5 minute) downhill hike we will start our adventure through the river. We will hike up the river using trails and bridges that criss-cross the river allowing us to enjoy multiple smaller, interactive waterfalls and natural pools. There are 4 different swimming holes and many waterfalls to get under. These natural pools will invite you to swim in the fresh mountain spring water and submerge under the falls for an invigorating massage. For the more adventurous there are a couple of places you can jump into the pools from 4’ and up to 25’! When you are done we have the 10 minute hike back to the truck. During the entire tour we are totally surrounded by beautiful Costa Rica virgin rain forest.

Bring your camera to capture all your amazing experiences and your guide will keep it in a dry bag and make sure it stays safe!

Absolutely Wonderful! - The waterfalls tour was absolutely amazing. The waterfalls were relaxing and just what we needed for our vacation. Tour guides Joaquin and Lomar were unbelievable! They focused on safety but more so having a great time. The tour started with a local Costa Rican breakfast and Joaquin/ Lomar gave us a history lesson as we navigated the mountains. Must do for all tourists! The Waterfall is definitely a hidden gem! Highly recommended if you are in the Jaco area.

Great experience! - Lomar, our guide, was fun, knowledgeable and friendly! While driving on a twisty mountain road he was able to point out specific birds, plants, and other flora/fauna of amazement and interest! The hike was physically challenging and the waterfalls, jungle hike and jumps into pools were excellent! A great experience overall!

Excellent waterfalls hike-insist on Lomar - To and from the waterfalls was seamless and our guide Lomar was informative and fun. If you don’t learn something on the hike, you’re not listening. There is nothing like plunging 8’ or if inclined, 30’, into invigorating water. We were a party of 6, 3 couples all strangers, all Americans. We had a great time as if we weren’t strangers. Food was great and was much needed later. The hike is moderately strenuous. If you can climb 3 flights of stairs you can do this. Request Lomar, you cannot go wrong. Pura Vida!!!

Do this tour! - Like all the other reviews I can express this enough, DO THIS TOUR! It was absolutely incredible. Our tour guide, Wilson was so patient and friendly. Took time to explain historical things, took so many pictures and videos of us. It was very personalized. Thank you Wilson for making our day so memorable.

What Costa Rica is all about. - Really, what Costa Rica is all about. The trip started with a small Costa Rican breakfast, freshly prepared by a local family. Joaquin, then took us up the mountain on a 4 wheel truck with an observation platform on the back. We were able to see all kinds of wildlife and vegetation indigenous to the area. We then hiked to the series of waterfalls. Great pictures and great fun. Joaquin was truly representative of almost all of the local Ticos that we met, just wonderful, kind people with a great sense of humor.

Fun Excursion On Truck Not ATV- starving dog and puppies next door - You will be picked up in town and then change to an open air vehicle truck; no ATVs. It’s fun! Moderate Short Hike to waterfall and back. Steep climb coming back and a bit slippery going down. Wear hiking shoes and then have water shoes with you. It’s in the shade otw down in the jungle so it’s much cooler. You will hike to one area where there is a swimming hole, two photo op spots and then at the top where you can jump 23 ft or 30 ft if you want into water. It’s not mandatory to jump or to leave. Lunch was provided at base camp where we switched vehicles. There is a bathroom there. The reason I’m doing 4 stars is the neighbor next door has a starving mama dog with puppies. The tour company says they feed her scraps, but every time they do, the German shepherd mix attacks her. It was horrible to watch. I contacted several places to see if they would help her but I didn’t have any luck. I have guilt leaving her behind. I bet the neighbor would relinquish her for $100. We just didn’t have the time before flying out to see this through. I’m sad for her and the puppies bc I think the tour guides non neutered male is the father. They need to do better to help that dog and puppies get care. It’s going to hurt their business if they don’t; as other animal lovers will see what we saw. It started the tour out very stressful bc of the aggressive dog attacking the other dog for food more than once and sad to see how skinny and hungry the beagle mix and puppies were. Maybe someone else can help. She is facing the shack to the right in the fence. 😢 Peta said they could help with photos and of course we didn’t get any.
