For a half day (4hr) guided beginner cross-country ski tour, we’ll provide winter ecology interpretation and professional nordic skiing instruction. You will meet us at our downtown meeting location in Jackson WY and then we will provide transportation do one of the many great nordic Ski areas in Grand Teton based on weather and wind conditions. Our programs are offered as small groups with a maximum of 7 participants. Guides are all trained nordic instructors. We will spend a great day half day in the wintrer wonderland of Grand Teton exploring the snow and transport guests back to Jackson.\nActivity Level: Leisure\nThis type of tour will focus on taking advantage of teaching moments to learn about cross-country skiing technique and winter ecology. We’ll have plenty of time to stop and take photos and we’ll be moving at a pace where you can easily hold a conversation with friends.\nWe offer private programs that can cater to any activity level.\nNOTE: Skis and boots are not included as part of this adventure, after booking we will direct you to local rental options for nordic equipment.

Jackson Hole Eco Tour Adventures - Touring the Grand Tetons with Echotour Adventures will go down as one of my most wonderful adventures. The view of the mountains during the trip was majestic. Our tour guide Jeff was full of knowledge, patience, and professionalism. I highly recommend Ecotour Adventures. Touring with them is a once in a lifetime adventure.

XC skiing for newbies with an amazing guide - We did a cross country skiing tour with Laura early January 2025! On top of being kind and incredibly knowledgeable about the area and the nearby wildlife, she was also so patient as she taught my husband and I how to ski for the very first time.
I was having a hard time balancing on my skis while trying to take in the scenery that was on our left hand side, so she took us off the regular paved paths to get a better look of the Tetons head on, which helped me to balance on the skis while getting to enjoy the views. She took photos for us, gave us survival tips and demonstrations such as how to set up a shelter in emergencies, and she even spotted a moose and gave us binoculars to get a better view! It was such an amazing experience and I am so grateful to have had Laura as our guide. Couldn’t recommend her or the company enough! Thank you, Laura!

Amazing Learning Experience with an Expert - Definitely recommend this cross country ski tour in the Tetons. Our guide Laura taught us so much about cross country skiing and made us feel comfortable as beginners. We had a great time with her on the tour, and by the end of the trip we felt like we could rent skis ourselves!

Teton Morning Escape - Highly recommend this cross country excursion. Bo was an expert teaching us cross country ski tips and knew an immense amount about the area. Had the Tetons to ourselves. Thanks Bo!

Unforgettable!! - One of the best experiences of my life! Our guide, Ryan, greeted my husband and I with our thermoses of hot coffee and blueberry muffins. Then, he treated us to an unforgettable morning. On our ride to the ski trailhead, Ryan asked us if he could turn the van around for a few minutes and show us something special. We figured, why not? Turns out, Ryan had gotten a tip from a colleague that there were some wolves hanging out in the elk reserve just out of Jackson. We were able to see the wolves through a special viewfinder camera, and it was stunning to see these animals trotting around in the snow! Back at the trailhead, Ryan encouraged us through the basics of cross-country skiing. We are both seniors and had never done this! Ryan kept an eye on us as we got our bearings and got our confidence on. He kept the "training" simple and specific and we appreciated that. We had so much fun. The backdrop of the Tetons is I think the most breath-taking thing I've ever seen. One thing I really appreciated too, was that Ryan took many beautiful photos and even videos and then shared them with us and our cell phones. So, we weren't having to worry about capturing our day in pictures; he did it for us!! Plus he's an excellent photographer and knows so much about the wildlife and natural surroundings we found ourselves happily in. Eco Tours was fantastic throughout our booking. As an example, we had to cancel our initial appointment due to flight diversions and snowy weather. But Eco Tours was able to get our adventure rescheduled so that we could fulfill our dream to see the Tetons in winter!!! Thank you to all involved. I am missing Wyoming already!!

Best Adventure! Book it now! - This was absolutely the best adventure ever! Bo and Ricky were our guides. We had never cross country skied before and by the end we all felt very confident in our abilities. Not only were they very good instructors but they provided us so much information on the history of the Grand Tetons, tracking, history of some of the early settlers and Jackson Hole. My husband had foot surgery earlier in the year so he was having a hard time keeping up with me and our daughter. Ricky stayed with the him at a slower pace allowing us to continue at a faster pace with Bo. We took a lot of great pictures. They provided great local snacks to enjoy along the way. I HIGHLY recommend booking this adventure. Ask for Bo and Ricky, they were both amazing!!!

Best Cross Country Tour for Beginners! - RAF and David were incredible guides. My husband and I had never done cross county before and they made it so fun and enjoyable. We cannot wait to go again. This is the tour you want!

Great way to spend the day!! - We had such a great time on our cross country tour! Laura, our guide, was incredibly knowledgeable. She was very patient and got us all comfortable on our skis as beginners but we all felt accomplished afterwards and said we’d be ready to rent some skis on our own after her tutorial!

Excellent winter experience - My wife, daughter, and I had an amazing afternoon cross country skiing with our guide Bo. We came with a mixed set of ski backgrounds, from first time to experienced, and Bo struck a great balance between patient instructor and seasoned guide. We appreciated the seclusion of the ski location and Bo’s knowledge of both wildlife and cross country skiing. We saw moose on the drive out and a bald eagle on the drive back, and Bo went above and beyond by taking some extra time so we could see elk, coyote, bison, and bighorn sheep from a lookout near the National Elk Refuge. I would highly recommend Bo as a guide and Eco Tours as an outfitter. This was our third trip with Eco Tours and we plan to do more in the future!
