After a 3-hour drive, we find ourselves journeying to the Karacasu district in Aydın, having gathered our visitors. We’re heading to Aphrodisias, a city that’s over 2500 years old and earned UNESCO world heritage status in 2017. The city was a tribute to the goddess Aphrodite. The creative and skilled artists led the city towards prosperity as they extensively used the superior marble from nearby quarries, given that the city was known for its respected sculpture school. Iconic signs of a thriving city like the Odeon (council chambers), the monumental gate (tetra pylon), stadium, agora, Hadrian’s Roman Baths, and certainly Aphrodite’s temple will be points of interest on our visit. Following the tour, our guests will be escorted to Karasu where a Turkish meal is included. Post lunch, we will escort our guests to Izmir.
