It transcends being merely a religious destination, offering a soulful experience where history, faith, art, and nature converge to provide pilgrims and visitors with a truly unique journey.
- Carezza - The journey will take us through the Ega Valley, which starts in Bolzano and stretches eastward between the Catinaccio and Latemar mountains. This road, constructed in 1895 during the Austro-Hungarian Empire, partially traverses a canyon sculpted by the Ega River. We’ll pause at Lake Carezza, renowned as the most beautiful lake in the Dolomites, for a 30-minute visit, including an optional walk around the lake.
- Passo Pordoi - Here begins a series of 27 hairpin turns leading to the renowned Pordoi Pass, situated at 2,239 meters above sea level. Visitors can enjoy an hour-long stay, with the option to take the cable car to Sass Pordoi (2,950 meters; operational from late May to mid-October and from Christmas to Easter).
- Passo Sella - From the Pordoi Pass, we retrace a few kilometers to reach the Sella Pass, where the landscape is truly breathtaking with the vertical cliffs of the Sella directly before us. From the Sella Pass, one can admire the Marmolada glacier (3,343 m) and the magnificent Sassolungo (3,181 m), the most iconic mountain in Val Gardena: a 15-minute stop is planned for photographs.
- Ortisei: Zona Pedonale - Descending from the Sella Pass, we enter Val Gardena, the most renowned tourist valley in the Dolomites, and visit its largest town, the charming Ortisei. An hour will be spent there for lunch and exploring the town.
