absolutely Amazing memory - I was in Strombli, Panarea, Salina Vulcano and Lipari from December 1954 to
July 1957, I was employed as a supervisor in a construction company
I am planning to go back in May to niuta it after so long, 1957 I moved to Stockholm, where I still live today

Beautiful - Bella esperienza!! We booked through an agency and they picked us up near the B & B and then drove us back.
We arrived in Milazzo at 12 Ca, we paid 85€ per person and boarded! We left at 12.30...During the trip they explained a little 'the Aeolian Islands and at 14 Ca we arrived in Panarea. Bellissima... abbiamo comprato 2 panini 17€, un po' carucci!! We ate on the rocks and immediately bathed!! Bring rock shoes or sneakers! Then walk Ca 30 minutes, we arrived at Caia Zimmari beautiful beach with sand and stones! A nice bath and then return by electric taxi 5€ per person! Fortissimo!
Then at 18 we went to Stromboli, unfortunately we could not get off but we skirted it! We saw the skiing, the beautiful sunset and then we returned at 10.30pm. Ne è valsa la pena! If I can give advice I would anticipate 2 hours departure and then return!!!

This IS the day cruise to consider - Everything went smoothly from booking well in advance to boarding. The boat was sufficiently large enough but still small enough for the intimacy of feeling this cruise was yours alone. The staff was incredibly helpful and they made it a very fun day. We also bought the mini cruise around Panarea which was fun and offered many additional photo opportunities. The best was our time on Stromboli. We had a great dinner, walked the black beach and then circled the island and seen the lava shoot out. Now a huge eruption but a great show. I encourage you to consider this option.

Beautiful Aeolian Islands minus the Tour operator - The company was well reviewed on the site that sold the excursions. However, my assessment is not entirely positive. Itinerary changed two days before departure (you could not disembark in Stromboli when it has been known for months but we are notified at the last minute and is brought forward by an hour the estimated time of departure). Once on the boat we are told that the stay on the island of Panarea is 3 hours but if you want you can stay on the boat to take an hour ride around the island that otherwise going down you would have missed. All for a special price of 10 euros. Obviously no payment receipt but we are given a card with a small number. One share of people stays on the boat while another gets off. No control over who stays and who gets off. In other words you could stay without paying the extra EUR 10. Needless to say, the ride was not as sensational as it was sold to us, indeed, having only 2 scarce hours available to visit the island it was not possible to go to the most beautiful beach and so we bathed at the port amid the smell of petrol discharge. The feeling of being just chickens to pluck was a lot and the professionalism very little. Net of this the Aeolian islands are definitely a place to see maybe with another Tour!
