Grandmas Recipes Delivered Bologna!! - Walk there if you can..under the porticos almost the whole way from city center…a wonderful evening of learning how to make tortellini and tagliatelle! wine was flowing free all night.. never knew Tiramisu only takes 5 minutes to make!! And delicious!! My only complaint was that I wanted more!!!!

Great experience - An italian cooking class with a difference… learn how to make pasta whilst feeling like your sitting in your Nona kitchen hearing all the age old recipes and little hints… Frederico makes you feel part of his family… the wine was good as well

Awesome experience! - Fred is an amazing instructor. We learned a lot, laughed even more, and shared an incredible meal with our group. It was a highlight of my visit to this beautiful city!

Funny cooking experience - Good Food and fun pasta making process, and enough wine; at 1930 the host ask if he should order a taxi for us

Duh - The listing says to message for 'more pics'. I only messaged because I had questions about the food. But during the conversation, the host quickly pushed to confirm the booking privately (likely to avoid portal fees), so we ended up paying cash on arrival. However, some promised perks were missing: no complimentary bottle of wine to take home, no welcome homemade pizza, and the 'wine tasting' was just unlimited self-service from bottles on the table. The host was friendly, but overall, the experience didn’t feel worth the cost. I hesitated to write this, but transparency is important—future guests should know what to expect. I’m genuinely surprised by the overwhelmingly positive reviews here. Maybe we just had incredibly bad luck on the day we visited—or perhaps expectations have shifted

Disappointing and unsatisfying experience - well, which we never got. On the day of the booking, the host changed the start time from 17.00 to 17.30 which was stressful while were on holiday. The cooking class was underwhelming. We made two types of fresh pasta but the ragu was premade and the tomato sauce was okay. The tiramisu wasn't great and some of us didn't finish it. As a vegetarian, there was just one basic tomato sauce so it wasn't very filling or special. The dinner felt rushed and the host started preparing his own dinner while we were eating. On the booking, it said there would be an aperitivo with homemade pizza and a wine tasting but we never got this. Instead there were just a chardonnay and merlot which were okay but not amazing. When we asked the host about the pizza, he said that there was a problem with the oven. Towards the end, he seemed quite keen to get us out even though he started late. Overall, we left disappointed and unsatisfied. Given there were 10 people in the class and everyone paid approximately 80 euros each, I can't say it's worth the money at all. I wouldn't recommend as there are better experiences.

Avoid Federico - Read other reviews - Looking at past reviews, I know I’m at risk of being barraged with insults from Federico, but I’d like other travelers to know what we experienced. We booked a 2 hour Food/Wine Walking tour through our travel company. The start was fine. Federico obviously has local knowledge and did share some cool tips with us. However, as the tour progressed, it felt very rushed and he seemed disengaged. Our tour was cut short by 30 minutes and he skipped one of the listed stops - a local handmade pasta shop. This tour looked so good on paper - enjoy “the best foodie places, shops and markets”, hear “anecdotes and city secrets that only few locals know” - but sadly did not deliver. With a tour guide who is enthusiastic, passionate about their subject, and enjoys people, this had the potential to be a great. After the tour, he insisted that food and drinks were not included even though I sent him a screen shot of our paid tour invoice. There's a very good reason that Federico has so many unsatisfied customers, as you can see below. Our experience was not unique and I encourage anyone thinking of booking with this service to reconsider or at the very least be sure they have Paula instead, who sounds wonderful.

14 reasons to NOT book this class - Yesterday we did a cooking class with Frederico. Here are our 14 reasons why you should NOT book this class: 1. Frederico cancelled the class three days in advance. He sent me a message on WhatsApp that the class was still on but that we needed to pay cash. He gave us a small discount and promised us a bottle of wine which we never received. 2. At the day of the class, he wanted us to arrive half an hour later than planned, which then felt rushed because he clearly wanted to be finished around 19h (we started at 17:30 instead of 17h). 3. Frederico never communicated about the size of the group. All three groups of guests were surprised to have the other ones there as well. 4. We were promised an aperitivo with homemade pizza, but we never received this. 5. We were promised a wine tasting but all he did was put a bottle of red and a bottle of white wine on the table for self service. 6. The vegetarian options were very limited and they even had to share the pasta with the ones who did eat the meat pasta. 7. One of the other guests was pregnant and couldnt eat the tiramisu. Frederico apparently knew this in advance but still did not arrange an alternative for her. 8. Only one of the guests at a time was allowed to help with the tiramisu, so there was no collective learning. 9. Frederico prepared the ragu in advance and also the tomato sauce was made without any interference from the guests. 10. Frederico put two kinds of pasta in one sauce (the vegetarian one) which we all had to share. His company is called StayhungrystayBologna and that's a promise he did keep: the vegetarians were still hungry indeed. 11. The tiramisu was not made in the traditional way. He promises the best tiramisu you will ever eat, but it was the worst. 12. At the end of the dinner he clearly wanted us to leave soon, while he was preparing his own dinner. 13. We paid him cash and asked him about the missing aperitivo, to which he replied that the oven was broken. No apologies, no heads-up, no refunds or discount, nothing. The bottle of wine to take home is also still missing. 14. Last but not least, he took pictures of us and then, without asking for permission, he put these pictures on his Instagram story. If we had read the negative reviews on TripAdvisor, which all mention the same complaints, we obviously would have never booked this class. He is a fraud and does not provide his guests with that he promises them.
