Very informative trip with Gari - Mycenae and Epidaurus are very important historically and should be visited by everyone. Apart from the theatre in Epidaurus and a tomb in Mycenae, there isn't much left standing though. Therefore it only makes sense to visit with someone who will give you the story. Getaways Greece did a great job with that. The guide, Gari, was providing very interesting stories and information throughout the trip. At Mycenae there is a separate local guide, who was also very informative and knowledgable. There is a local guide at Epidaurus as well, but this part felt a bit rushed imo, even though we did have enough time to explore on our own. Also, in Nafplio there should be more time for lunch imo. Nonetheless, a great trip altogether.

A Great Day at Mycenae and Epidaurus - We had a great tour. Our guides, both on the bus and at the site, were so knowledgeable and friendly. And the weather in November was perfect. A great day out.

Alex, the God of tour guides! - This tour was amazing for perhaps as many reasons as there are Greek Gods. -Alex was our main guide and driver. He was perfect! Not only is he a native Athenian who knows his country like the back of his hand, he is also an exceptional communicator, English speaker, driver and the kind of guide who delivers great knowledge with infectious enthusiasm. We were in great hands with Alex! -At the site of the Citadel of Mycenae we kept being the luckiest of tourists, because we had Natalie. She is very knowledgeable and helped us soak in the fascinating information of this important site. Having Natalie as a tour guide was like going on a field-trip with that favorite teacher. We learned so much! -We stopped for lunch and window shopping in the quaint and favorite town of Nafplio. We could see the fish near the bottom of the beautifully aqua-colored water. This was just lovely! -Our tour guide at the breathtaking Theatre of Epidaurus was Patty. She is very experienced and knowledgeable. But Patty has more. Being in Patty’s presence is like being embraced by an aura that comes from goodness and wisdom. Inspiring! She might tell you a secret or two. Maybe she was kissed by Apollo? -Alex drove back to Athens via a beautiful coastal road which gave us a chance to take in the gorgeous views of the coastal landscape. Exceptional tour! Thank you, Alex, Natalie and Patty!!!

As advertised - We picked the small groups option. Pickup at hotel went smoothly. Drove past Salamis island on the highway, stopped at Corinth canal for pictures and bathroom break. Mycenae was awesome: ruins and museum with a local guide. Lunch at Nafplio took up most of the time there. Then a stop at Epidaurus theatre and back to Athens as the sun set in November.

Perfect trip for those with limited time - Great day trip if you have limited time to see some of the key Peloponnes sites. Our group consisted of just nine people and our driver Aleks, our guide Gari (a studied archeologist) as well as our guide in Mycenae and Epidaurus had a wealth of knowledge, and were fantastic overall. We had a great time. Maren and John (the Athens Authentic Marathon runners)

The Greek Gods came with us! - Gari, our guide, was steeped in knowledge about Greek mythology and history. We heard all of it from beginning to end…a real treat! Alex, our drive, was a pro, on the rain-soaked, slippery, windy roads. This was a magical, mysterious, marvelous journey, made possible by these two Greek guides! Will never forget this trip!

Dream come true - Wow! Just wow! I was SO grateful (and amazed!) that this company went ahead with this tour despite having only 2 customers that day. The two of us ended up having, basically, a private tour with 💯% attention of our fantastic guide, please ty of time to explore everything and to have all our questions answered. The whole day trip was planned and executed to perfection. Our guide proved to be not just very knowledgeable but also enthusiastic and personable. This excursion was a dream come true fore because of the visit to Epudauros. Other companies visit Mycenae and Naphlio but not many give you the amazement of being able to actually sit in a VIP seat at the best preserved Ancient Greek theater. Thank you!
