Great Experience and lots of knowledge. - I took this tour right after my 11-hour flight and with only 3 hours of sleep, but the amount of history and venues selected for the tour were enough to wake me up. My tour guide, Eylem, was knowledgeable and fun to spend the day with. She could explain the history and details of each monument, mosque, and building visited. This tour is highly recommended.

Fully worth experience - We were picked up from our hotel and taken to the Hippodrome. Don’t forget to bring a scarf for the mosque visits. On arrival at our drop off point we were met by our tour guide. The tour was just for us. She was excellent, friendly, very knowledgeable and explained everything with care. It started at the Hippodrome. The Sultanahmet Mosque (Blue Mosque) followed by the Sophia Hagia were spectacular. The history and culture were fully explained and we felt comfortable to ask lots of questions. There was plenty of time to take photos. We then stopped for lunch. The serving at the ice cream shop was so funny and the goat’s milk ice cream was delicious. Next we went to the Grand Bazaar which is busy but good to see. The prices tend to be higher than outside. We visited a carpet shop as we wanted to buy some. We spent a lot of time here so we visited the Topkapi Palace the next day ourselves. We bought our tickets online. The Topkapi Palace and Harem were breathtaking and the exhibitions were valuable. The tour is a must and one we all thoroughly enjoyed.

An extremely informative... - An extremely informative guided tour of the Roman Hippodrome, Blue Mosque, St. Sophia, Topkapi Palace, and Grand Bizaar. 7 hours that seemed to fly by quickly because it was so enjoyable. Umit was an entertaining and knowledgeable guide.

1 day in Istanbul - I traveled solo to Istanbul. My guide was friendly - however I am rating them a 4 since my guide's explanations seemed short and hurried - I am used to guides who are story-tellers. Also, unless you are interested in buying a carpet, don't take them up on this. And final pro tip - don't buy anything without looking at prices in a couple of stores.

Private Tour in Sultanahmet (Istanbul) - Travelling solo, I would have preferred a group tour, but there did not seem to be any available. I suspect given the time of year (January) I was touring. As well, In all fairness I did also request for a few different English speaking guides (if possible) that I had seen reviews on and did get one of them. Peri was very nice, friendly, informative and spoke English very well. Her energy was a bit low, but she had a sore back and I also think it is harder work for a guide when they are dealing with one person as opposed to a larger group. A group tends to uplift the energy level. We went to all the highlighted places ( the mosques) including the Grand Bazaar. Peri asked me if there was anything I had in mind, but I was just really interested in looking at what it had to offer, not so much to shop just then. I would have been interested to know if the Bazaar had different sections for leathers, or textiles, jewellery etc...but you don't know what you don't know and I didn't think to ask. Peri was very accommodating at making sure I saw the main aspects of each stopping place and offering to take photos. The tour with the admission to Topkapi for myself and also the guide was close to $190.00 USD. I don't regret taking the tour, but I did find it up there in price (in total), and in hindsight would have looked for another tour with a group. I would definitely recommend the tour, but not as a private one.

Better to do it on your... - Better to do it on your own; the guide was rushing and didn’t have time to enjoy these places. We paid over $50 entry fees but spent only 10-15 mins on each of those
