Wander through this vast cistern, erected under Emperor Justinian I in 532 A.D., designed to provide water to the Great Palace. It has a capacity of 80,000 cubic meters of water, supplied by 20 kilometers of aqueducts from a reservoir near the Black Sea.

Descend the fifty-two stone steps to enter the cistern. Your QR Ticket and Audio Guide will be emailed to you by the activity provider before your tour date.

You will receive both your Entry Ticket QR Codes and Audio Guide link in separate emails from the supplier, Istanbul Tourist Pass. Please be aware that skipping security lines is not an option. There may be a queue at the entrance, which is mandatory for all visitors.
