Great experience - We had a great and enjoyable time, with Bernardo our tour guide, Emma driving us safely to Isla Negra. Excellent tour of Pablo Neruda's home and had lunch on a small quaint town called Pomaire with tasty authentic Chilean food and service on Los Naranjos restaurant, and artisans specializing in clay pottery.

Thank you. the biggest pleasure was conversation during the ride to Isla Negra. Our guide had knowledge about socialism, about Patagonia, about cosmos different religions. He was amazing. Stupid me, I forgot his name, I forgot to ask if would like to become our friend. He shared same thoughts and ideas, he had same common sense. That was so amazing that people from different part of the world can be the same. Perhaps viator can help me find that AMAZING guy

If you only have enough time for one... -
If you only have enough time for one trip to the sea from Santiago, you should visit Isla Negra. Each of Neruda's houses contain the essence of the poet and so to visit them is to understand the man and his poetry to a greater degree.

It was a long drive to get to the... -
It was a long drive to get to the destination. But it was well worth it. I was really happy that I could finally visit Isla Negra. When we arrived there, we were told there were a large group of people ahead of us and we would have to wait for 2 hours!. Fortunately, thanks to our guide's negotiation or contact , they put us ahead of the crowd after 30 minutes of wait. Since we had to return to Santiago in time for the flight home, it was rather unnerving. I wondered if it was possible to make a reservation ahead in the evening. We enjoyed the tour of the house and appreciated beautiful and majestic view of the Pacific Ocean. In spite of Satiago's notorious Friday evening traffic, we got back to the hotel with enough time to spare. Our guide and the driver was really nice and efficient and the guide spoke excellent English.
However, I personally felt the visit to Pomaire was a waste of time. Wish there were a nicer place to visit and have a better lunch.

I must mention the guide was extremely knowledgable, interesting, spoke excellent English and very easy to talk to. Unfortunately where we stopped for lunch even though the Resturant had good food lovely and staff, the heat of the day was exhausting, this was enhanced by no aircon in the Resturant.

The museum was as interesting as we... -
The museum was as interesting as we had hoped, but we thought it was really silly that Viators provided both a driver and a guide, when the museum had its own audio tour. We really only needed a driver, which would have brought the cost down considerably. There was also some confusion about exactly what our itinerary would be. Had we known that they could have driven us to Valparaiso the same day, we could have saved an extra day and quite a bit of money.
