Take the tour. It's a no brainer - As a group of people with little to no knowledge of wine it was hands down the best tour of any kind I have been on. Carolina is an absolute gem. She kept things interesting and gave us an incredibly fun education on the wines and culture of the region. Could not recommend more. 5 stars is not enough. It was a pleasure to spend the day with our new friend , the mayor of wine

Don’t miss this gem of a tour! - We had a wonderful tour with Felipe and Gerald, very knowledgeable and sooooo nice. The car was excellent, we didn’t have a single wine we disliked and for the most part loved the wines, the wineries were smaller and we had personalized attention, no waiting and learned a lot. Beautiful wineries, amazing scenery! The two meals, breakfast and dinner, were excellent, home made by the artist (who showed us her beautiful artwork we were able to buy) and by the family with the huge backyard with roosters and peacocks! We have been to Napa but this was a much more personalized experience with better wines! Highest recommendation

Outstanding wine tour! - Absolutely fantastic tour with Felipe and Gerald. Communication in advance of the tour was faultless, and the tour itself was amazing. The breakfast and lunch hosts were so warm and welcoming, the wine tastings (which were plentiful and numerous) were catered to our tastes, and the company with Gerald and Felipe was outstanding. Would thoroughly recommend!

Amazing wine tour experience and more - We love a wine tour on holiday, and this one will stand out as one of our favourites. Our guides Pilar and Filipo met us at the hotel in a very comfortable SUV and immediately offered us our first glass of wine as we drove to breakfast! We knew we were set for a great day! Breakfast was at the home of a lovely local artist who fed us a great spread, but also showed us her work and introduced us to her ex husband and his bakery at the edge of their property. We then went to two very different wineries with excellent briefings on the wine and the Chilean wine industry. Then lunch at another local home- a beautiful farm with peacocks wandering around as we ate. 2 more wineries and then returned tired and happy to our hotel. Pilar was extremely knowledgeable but also made the whole day so interesting. Many discussions about Chilean history, politics, the economics of the wine industry… for people who like wine but aren’t experts this was exactly right for us. No pressure to buy at any stage. But good advice when we did. Like all Chileans we met, they were grateful for us visiting Chile and went out of their way to make us enjoy our time and their culture. They were also really curious about our lives, so it felt like a lovely day with friends rather than a tour we’d paid for. Cannot recommend highly enough.

Must do wine tour! - Best wine tour we have ever been on! My husband and I, along with a friend booked this tour and it was amazing! Felipe and Gerald were fantastic, knowledgeable and friendly! The food organised for the day was delicious and local! AMAZING all round! Highly recommend!

Extra special wine and food tour! - One of the best wine tours we have done! We were so lucky to have Gerald as our guide. He was very professional, extremely knowledgeable about wine and really great at communication. It’s obvious that he loves what he does. Started off the day with a lovely breakfast in the garden of a local artist which was so interesting. Then on to several wineries and a delicious lunch of local foods in another private garden. We especially appreciated that Gerald really took the time to find out what types of wine we wanted to try and then made sure that we were able to experience that. It was truly a fabulous day!

The wine and food was good, the company was exceptional - We had a wonderful day wine tasting with Christian (our tour guide) and Felipe (the driver and an owner of the company). We chose this tour specifically because we were looking for more wine tasting and were not interested in extensive tours of wineries and vineyards. We visited four wineries. Christian told us about each winery and we had one glass of wine at three of the wineries and a flight of three wines at one winery. We started the day at the charming house of a local artist, who prepared breakfast for us. It felt really special to be sharing food in someone’s home rather than at a restaurant. She showed us her art and her husband’s panadería, operated out of a small building on the property. Lunch felt similarly special as we visited another home. The family there runs a B&B in the back and we had an excellent meal prepared by the matriarch. It included asparagus soup, lasagna, and preserved fruit from their property. The real highlight of the day was Christian, our guide, who was a wealth of knowledge about Chile and Chilean culture. He wears many hats: video game storyteller, sommelier, winery tour guide (at a winery in addition to this tour). He has also worked making wine and has an extensive interest and knowledge of Chilean history. I felt that we learned so much, not only about Chilean wine and winemaking, but also about the history and culture of Chile. If we are lucky enough to come back to Chile, we will definitely reserve another tour with Maipo Valley Wine Tours!

Worth every cent. Simply amazing. - We spent the day with the most amazing guide, Christian. He was incredibly knowledgeable and everything was precisely coordinated by Felipe ahead of the day. Brunch was lovely and every meal accommodated my gluten issues with no problem! I liked that this was much more of a cultural tour than others we have had, from the home cooked meals to the types of winery tours led by Christian. It was one of our top tours of our ten days in Santiago!!!
