Participants will be taken to the Aurora Basecamp, Northern Lights Observatory, where the Northern Lights have been captured in large glass tubes for exploration in a comfortable indoor setting. The Observatory is situated in the rugged lava fields of Reykjanes Geopark. It is purposefully built away from light pollution, providing an optimal viewing platform for the natural Northern Lights, weather permitting.

At Aurora Basecamp, guests will be guided through the Dark Park, an interactive information display inside a dome that simulates the outdoors without the harsh weather. The Dark Park is designed to explain the realities and myths of the Northern Lights. Visitors will learn why the Northern Lights are challenging to find, what to look for, how to photograph them, and how they form and display their colors.

Embark on a guaranteed departure tour where a luxury minibus transports guests to the Aurora Basecamp, Northern Lights Observatory. The Observatory is nestled in the rugged lava fields of Reykjanes Geopark. Strategically built away from light pollution, it provides an excellent platform for viewing the natural Northern Lights, weather permitting.

At Aurora Basecamp, visitors will be guided through the Dark Park, an interactive information exhibit within a dome that simulates the outdoors without the harsh weather. From the Dark Park, guests can step outside into the expansive lava fields of Reykjanes Geopark. Stay warm by the open fire outside, or enjoy a complimentary hot drink inside the warm and cozy Aurora Lounge.

If the natural Northern Lights viewing conditions are not ideal at the Aurora Basecamp Observatory platform, the tour will continue in search of the best location.
