AMAZING - Lupuna jungle tours is the way to go. I went with my 4 friends and we had the most incredible time. Tour guides Roy and Paul made the experience so wonderful and a voyage we will all never forget. Everyone at the lodge went above and beyond to make every guest happy and even took us camping and fishing when we wanted to. This tour company is the way to go if you want to experience the Amazon jungle. We recommend a minimum of 3 nights, as you see something new every day. Thanks Lupuna!

Great Jungle Adventure - What a great trip we had with Lupuna Jungle Tours in the Amazon. Angelo the owner was so easy to deal with organising this in Australia before we left. Jair was our guide; he was very knowledgeable and was able to point out all the wildlife as we cruised down the Amazon in a small boat. Frank joined us on some adventures. He is full of life and enthusiastic about preserving wildlife. It was so good to get a hands-on look at the wildlife in their natural habitats. We had around 3/4 trips a day which included walking in the jungle, cruising along the jungle edge, swimming in the Amazon, visiting a local village, piranha fishing, and night tours. It was flexible to give us the best experience that suited us. The accommodation was clean with comfortable beds and the food was delicious. They even cooked the fish that we caught. We saw caimans, monkeys, heaps of birds, a sloth and was very lucky to see an anaconda in a local village - that was a treat. We loved this trip and would highly recommend it.

We had a great time but will never come back - We stayed 4 nights 5 days (2 days too long) Pros: -Tour guide Frank was awesome and went above and beyond (!!!) everyday to make everyone’s experience unique and wonderful. -Food was good. I felt safe. I did not get sick. It was enough although I was glad I had bought snacks. -Excellent activities and interesting things to learn. -Very authentic. -Everyone tried very hard. -Good deal Cons: -dirty -screens for mosquitoes in poor repair -no explanation of how to live at the lodge comfortably ie: you use brown river water for your showers. (Everyone does). The power is solar so it cuts off unexpectedly in the evening. No phone service (possibly obvious but good to be told). -everything is damp all the time in the jungle so you never felt clean. -this makes everything smell like mold, your sheets and pillowcases (with mold growing on them) the wood rotting in building. -bugs! Very obvious I realize but I am alérgico I realize now and likely need to visit a doctor for more antihistamine. I am so glad I had some with me. I would have had to leave otherwise. Need to bring! -no toiletries except for toilet paper. I was glad I had soap with me and a towel! They did not explain this however -they brought food to feed the monkeys to get them to come close…tisk tisk tisk. I still fed the monkey, but I felt bad and knew we shouldn’t be. When you see them hanging down over the river to say hello they are begging for fruit treats now and that’s not good for them. I think we all know that now. Either or: -now I LIKED having 15 bats hanging above my bed in the rafters of the roof. They made cute noises and ate mosquitoes, but you must understand you are in the middle of the jungle so you have to expect these kinds of things. -flying cockroaches in the shower. Huge. Size of the plan of my hand. Not their fault but god to know. You are in the jungle. -you must understand your are in a wooden lodge in the jungle, living like locals. This is adventure and part of the experience, but it is NOT comfortable. -our van broke down in our way there and the guides had to find help and all of the drivers we had were pretty reckless, but that seems the way in the area, so not really their fault. We had a good time, but we will never go back and will need time to recover. They do their best. You will have a great time, but expect the unexpected and understand you need to be very flexible and relaxed. You likely won’t get exactly what you want but you will have an experience of a lifetime and it’s good to go along for the ride sometimes.
