• Amazon River - Day 1

We depart from your hotel or the airport around 8:30 AM. Our journey begins with a 1 hour and 40-minute drive in a private vehicle to the city of Nauta. From there, we board a traditional motorboat that takes approximately 2 hours and 30 minutes to reach our camp. During this boat ride, we navigate the two main rivers of the Amazon: the Marañon River and the Ucayali River. Our camp is situated on the Yarapa River, within a protected communal reserve.

After lunch, we embark on our first excursion. By boat, we will observe river dolphins, with the chance to see both pink and gray species. After dinner, we will venture into the jungle for a night excursion, searching for nocturnal creatures such as snakes, frogs, spiders, tarantulas, and more.

• Amazon River - Day 2

Our day starts early with a 5 AM excursion to enjoy the beautiful sunrise and observe colorful birds and monkeys. Upon returning to camp, we will have a delicious continental breakfast. Following breakfast, we will take a boat trip to our first camping area.

Our second excursion of the day is a jungle walk through the primary forest. This walk offers opportunities to observe wildlife and learn about medicinal plants from our guide. Additionally, you’ll acquire basic jungle survival skills, such as finding food and water or building shelter.

In the afternoon, we will take a boat or canoe excursion upstream on the Cumaceba River, searching for sloths, macaws, various types of monkeys, and more. We will also pass by two beautiful lakes, surrounded by incredible nature. In the evening, we will have a night boat excursion to look for alligators.

• Amazon River - Day 3

We start the day with early morning canoeing to observe bird species that can only be found deep in the jungle, away from native communities. We will also walk around a lagoon to look for tracks or sightings of animals such as jungle pigs (sajinos) and capybaras. Additionally, we will walk to see one of the giant tree species in the Amazon, which can grow over 65 meters tall. Our night excursion will focus on searching for night monkeys, small cats, and, if we’re lucky, jaguars along the riverside.

• Amazon River - Day 4

After breakfast, we will visit a lake to see the famous giant water lilies. As the final highlight of our 4-day, 3-night tour, we will fish for piranhas, the most dangerous fish in the Amazon River. If we catch one, there is a possibility of trying it for lunch.

After lunch, we will return to Iquitos city. We will take a boat to Nauta city, where we will switch to a car that will arrive in Iquitos around 5 PM. We will then drop you off at the airport or your hotel.
