Worth every minute! - This tour is perfect for those wanting a small taste of an experience of the Amazon without having to spend too long dealing with pesky mosquitoes. Our guide Segundo was awesome, picking us up promptly, leading us safely through a jungle walk and was super passionate and knowledgeable about everything he showed us. Despite being wet season, Segundo’s energy didn’t let the average weather dampen our experience. Highly recommended to anyone looking for a brief but exciting experience in the Amazon. You may even see some dolphins 🙂

Amazing guides, thank you Segundo! - I did the 2 day guided tour with Segundo, and felt very safe as a female solo traveler! Very fresh food, provided me with rain boots, as well as a flashlight rental. Segundo was so kind, took lots of pictures and knowledgeable about the jungle wildlife. I learned something new every hike. There is electricity four hours a day, but that was inconsistent on my first day— only being around 2.5.

Great time at Maniti Eco-Lodge - We had a great time at Manti lodge. The accommodations, food, tours and people were great. We especially enjoyed having Segundo as our guide. He is super knowledgeable and a wonderful guide. He showed us a lot of places and things and was very attentive. He had the cook make me a wonderful fish dinner one night. That was awesome. He also took us to the market in Iquitos so my wife could find something she wanted. We are so glad we had him as our guide. We also got to meet his wife and daughter which was great. He went above and beyond. We will definitely recommend Maniti, and Segundo, to anyone we know headed to Peru.

Incredible jungle experience! - I did the tour around july, but i'm late posting this because it wouldn't be fair not to share my incredible experience there, Iquitos is such an amazing place, since you're landing there to the lodge in the rainforest, everything is magical, Linder our tour guide has a lot of incredible knowledge that make the experience even better, his patience and all of his support make him an important part of the journey, thanks for everything pal!

Unprofessional tour - The whole two-day tour was very unprofessional and not worth the money. The living conditions were very poor and minimal: only 3 hours of electricity and 4 hours of WiFi each day, and there was no clean water. We had to pay for bottled drinking water. We also got bed bug bites. Food was tasty, but limited supply—given the amount of money we paid, I would expect to at least have enough fruits, instead of one piece of fruit each person. All these could be tolerated if the tour was good, but no… Our guid was very unprofessional. He didn’t tell us any knowledge about the Amazon or the jungle except for pointing out some animals and plants. Nothing more—he didn’t talk much. He only talked to the person next to him and left the rest of the group wondering what they saw and what things were. He told us to meet at 6am the second day, but when we were ready, he just canceled the trip without reasons. And then when another person asked, he changed plan back to leaving without reasons either. His English was very poor—he barely understood us, and we barely understood him. He had a tough time formulating longer sentences in English, and we believe he couldn’t really talk about the region because of that. He is a nice guy and helped us get on and off the boat and with our luggage, but he was not trained to be an adequate and professional tour guide at all. It feels like the company just grabbed a random local guy who knows a little English to do this professional job. The whole trip was very disorganized. There were always 1-2 hours between activities or between activities and meals when we were left doing nothing. We were told to go back our rooms to “rest”, but the rooms had not even electricity and we were just sitting in heat and humidity doing nothing. The sites we visited were not exciting either. We hoped to see Amazon animals in their natural habitat, but we saw human fed animals in a village and zoo like animals in cages. Last but not least, we were given a feedback form in front of the camp crew, including the guide, to fill in. How could we write anything negative when our return boat ride was still in their hands? We would like to request a refund for at least half of what we paid. We paid 375 dollars each person, and our family all felt it was a ripoff for the service we got.

Did the Amazon but didn’t get the full itinerary, missed some must-do’s 🙁 - Our once in a lifetime opportunity to visit the Amazon in Peru simply did not deliver. The Operators, the itinerary and the wonderful people serving in the Camp had the potential to be amazing, but our experience was sadly lacking. Day 1 - Pick up was punctual and well organized. Boat to the Camp was fun and a lovely feeling of being in remote wilderness. Camp food was amazing!!However the trip to Camp was only informative re the wildlife thanks to the guide from another company who was on the boat with us. We were supposed to visit Nanay markets - didn’t happen. The morning visit to Monkey Island didn’t happen until the afternoon. The afternoon dolphin watching - didn’t happen. The swim in the Amazon - didn’t happen. Day 2 - We went piranha fishing (which was supposed to happen on day 1) and it was awesome having our catch cooked and served up to us! However jungle hike to see giant celba trees - didn’t happen. The return boat journey, major luggage collection and drop off at airport all went well. Overall, we were casually shepherded here and there but there was very little sense of enthusiasm by Maniti in terms of what and how was delivered. We were left bitterly disappointed.
