Day Trip - Loved the Zoo as it focused on local mammals. The railway up was an experience and the views from both were breathtaking.

Beautiful! - We stayed at this zoo with our 2-year-old daughter. It was wonderful! Clean environment with many well kept animals. Organized very very well and although there are climbs a little more uncomfortable, they are done serenely with any type of stroller. Highly recommended especially for families with small children.

Lovely day out - The zoo was lovely and there were amazing views from both the zoo and Hungerburg. Tickets were fast and efficient - we just collected them at the station and scanned them for entry into the zoo and transport (very little interaction needed so no worries if your German isn’t great). Very affordable and well worth the money.

Name is Program - We really liked the zoo - everything was very coherently structured, from the aquarium to reptiles, amphibians to wildlife enclosures and aviaries: No exotic animals, but fauna oriented towards the Alps throughout. There is also an adventure playground and petting zoo and if you orientate yourself to the paws on the ground, you navigate well through the entire complex - but you have to be good on foot as everything is on the mountainside.

Nice visit by the tele freak… can be skipped if you are in a hurry - We came here as a stop by tele-freak and our expectation were very high for the place as we have expected to see many animals. Once we entered, we saw some birds in a big cage , a farm mouse some turtles and fishes. Then a handful of other animals were seen like the otter and brown bear. There is a play area for children and a museum.

Good alternative program in bad weather - Because of bad weather we decided to visit the Alpen Zoo in Innsbruck. Are driven by car - parking is possible directly at the zoo. Admission to zoo then 15€ per person. Mann can learn a lot about the local alpine animal and plant world in the beautifully landscaped zoo. ES various enclosures, aviaries - terrariums and aquariums show all kinds of animals. Also very interesting for children - everything to cope well in the tour and loosened up with some playful elements. All in all had a nice time

Very disappointing! - We paid a total of 80 euros for our visit (incl. ride on the less exciting, but mega-full and stuffy Hungerbergbahn). Not necessarily a cardboard stick. Unfortunately, we were very disappointed with the zoo. Everything looked so far like well maintained and beautifully laid out enclosures. Unfortunately, however, a disproportionate number of them were simply empty. This can happen here and there, but in our opinion it was disproportionately often in the entire zoo area. And sometimes there were just no animals to see, although maybe there were some. Overall, the animal selection was also rather manageable. The highlight that everything ends up on is the bear enclosure (or should be). Here we could see two bears, one of which was feeding relatively calmly, the other, larger but suffering from terrible hospitalism, constantly running back and forth outside the shop window and finding no rest. All in all, unfortunately, a disappointing experience!
