Very challenging but definitely worth it - I had a driver who picked me up before mid-night. We had almost 1:30 h driver before we arrived to the starting point (a bit lower than Pura Pasar Agung Temple). The hike started around 1:00 AM. I chose the shorter path, and it was about 1700 meters up and down. Since you are going up a volcano it is a very steep hike. The hike took me 4.5 hours up and 3.5 hours down. I was the only person with my guide and since it is a challenging hike, they try to put a guide for every one or two people. The guide could speak very basic English, so we did not have much communication, but he understood the basic terms and we had rest when I asked for it, especially on the way back. I think I could have enjoyed it more if he spoke more English, but I appreciate the effort he put to help me go up and down safely. It depends on your luck which guide you get, some are more attentive and guide you more carefully on the tricky parts. We arrived before sunrise to the top and the view on the top was extraordinary and we watched the sunrise. We were also lucky to have a nice weather. It is definitely worth going, but note that you need to be physically fit, as this is 1700 up and down with a total of 10 kilometers hike.

Very professional! - We had such a wonderful experience hiking up Mount Agung. The whole process was handled with care and professionalism. From the initial booking to the pick up and the trekking to the summit. Like everyone on the internet says..the hike is not for the faint hearted..but it was so worth it to see the sun rise over Bali. Suksuma

You won’t regret it - Wow! This hike was an incredible experience. The first time I’ve ever done anything like it so I had no expectations, what I can say is, it was tough! There’s a point where the mind takes over and makes you believe you can’t do it, but of course you can! So that was definitely one of the biggest lessons out of the hike. It reminded me of my resilience and how strong I am! You are in really safe hands, your tour guide will know this mountain like the back of his hand so don’t have fear. We really liked learning from our guide about the mountain and thought it was really special to see the offerings given to the gods at every stop point. Even when it was hard, we all had a laugh and there’s nothing that can’t be solved when you share a coffee with each other. I would highly recommend this hike. You will learn new things about nature, about Bali, and about yourself while doing it! Id say one of the most important things is to have the proper shoes and clothing… we didn’t and I think it would have been a bit less of a challenge should we have been better prepared!

Challenging but rewarding! - I had a great experience with this! I booked a solo hike with the Besakih route. I knew I would be slow, so I messaged the company and requested to start the hike earlier, so I'd be able to make it for sunrise and they were totally fine with it. It was a tough hike for me, but I managed to reach there right at sunrise and was able to enjoy the amazing views and my guide was very great and supportive the whole way. My driver Gusti was really accommodating and nice, I requested a different drop-off from my pick-up point, and he let me leave my luggage in the car overnight, so I would be able to go straight to my next destination. Probably the best and most challenging thing I've done so far in Bali, I highly recommend it if you enjoy hiking, but note that it is really slippery going down on the loose soil and rocks, so it would be best if you wear proper footwear.

Great! - An amazing experience. My guide didnt speak much english but was really nice and helpful. We got up too soon so he made a fire with 2 other guides. I got even some sleep before the sunrise. Absolutely worth it.

To the ones who likes challenge - 1. What a experience! Once to reach the top you’ll see the path to summit which is breathtaking. It seems resembling the path to heaven. The panoramic view is also mind blowing. You can feel you are three times higher than mt Batur! Mt Rinjani is also detectable even though it’s in the other island!! 2. I would never did this without my guide Ketut. Ketut is completely reliable. He knows the best way to climb safest route in every steps. Don’t worry if your pace is not good enough. Ketut consistently checks you and waits patiently until you come close enough. I strongly recommend him as your companion. 3. Ketut buda is driver to this tour who picked me up from the hotel and back. He comes in time and always ready to drive you home. He drives safe and friendly at the same time.

Very helpful and trusted team member - I booked the wrong date as I was confused on the pick up timing for the tour but the tour agency was very accommodating and accept the change of dates without hassle. Truly appreciated it. I would also like to commend our guide, Loka for being very patient with us as we climbed pretty slow and ended the tour very late. Additionally, we are thankful of our driver Niko for being a great assistance to us especially when I left my phone in his car and he's willing to go out of his way to return it to us. The climb was arduous but it was a great experience and the view is impeccable
