Atlas Mountains 2 day hike - highlight of our stay in Morocco!! - We had a fantastic 2 days hiking through the Atlas Mountains in a small group of 4.
Brahim was wonderfully knowledgeable and enthusiastic and made the trip for us - we felt very lucky to have him as our guide. The other two guides cooked our meals and mules carried our bags and supplies the whole way.
The whole landscape was stunning with constantly changing views of snowcapped peaks, Berber villages, picturesque rivers valleys and mountain plateaus.
The Berber house we stayed in was cosy, with plenty of blankets to keep us warm when the temperatures plummeted at night. It was located very much off the beaten track with views from the roof terrace stretching right across the valley.
We were also provided with delicious food and snacks throughout the trip, including: barley porridge for breakfast, harira soup, tagine, salads, and all the mint tea you could ask for.
We found it extremely enjoyable, cost-effective and well-organised. The price included food and refreshments for 2 days, transport to and from Marrakesh, a night’s stay in a Berber house, guides and mules for 2 days.
We’d absolutely recommend this trip to anyone looking to explore the Atlas Mountains for more than just a day and would love to come back again for longer to explore the mountains more.
Simply amazing!!

Awe-inspiring, challenging, Nature at its finest! - Absolutely SPECTACULAR! This was truly one of the greatest adventures I have ever experienced! Breathtaking views! Hassan was an amazing guide and the food from our cook/muleteer was the best I had throughout our trip to Morocco! As a 52 year old woman with my husband and two much younger friends, it was “me and the boys” and we enjoyed every second of the experience! I will advise that the trek is much harder than I expected just making the entire experience even more powerful because we can say “WE DID IT!” I cannot say enough good things about this trip! You have to experience it for yourself!

Loved the experience! - We did the two day hike to Mt Toubkal with Climbing Toubkal and would totally recommend it. The landscape is beautiful and the early morning hike to see the sunset over the mountains at the summit is breathtaking. The experience with our tour operator Climbing Toubkal was also very good, our guide Mohammed and the cook that came with us were very friendly and helpful, the food was pretty good (especially considering the remote location!), and communication worked very well both with Brahim and our tour guide. Given that the refuge we stayed at after the first night was fully booked, Brahim had offered that we could also stay in a tent next to the refuge. While in the end we decided to rather stay in the refuge we liked that we were given another option :)

3 day tour from Fez to Marrakech - loved it! - We didn't do the listed tour above but instead a 3 day tour from Fez to Marrakech organised by Brahim. We had such a great experience - can't recommend it enough! We travelled from Fez to Marrakech through the Merzouga desert. The accommodation we stayed at was all amazing and of such a high quality. Our driver was so lovely and always willing to stop the car when we wanted to get food or stop for photos. It was the highlight of our trip to Morocco.

Incredible experience! - Couldn’t recommend this more highly. Communication prior to leaving was great and Brahim is an incredible guide. We had so much fun learning about Berber culture and Brahim’s experiences as a guide. The villages were beautiful and the views from the mountain passes incredible. The length of time spent walking was a bit of a challenge for someone of average fitness, but doable and so worth it. Just bring lots of blister plasters! It was hot in the sun and cool in the shade, but plenty of blankets were supplied for the overnight stay in a comfortable gite. This was a very special experience.

Highlight of my trip to Morocco - It was such an amazing experience with great hiking and visiting different villages and two valleys. My guide brahim was very knowledgeable and our cook Omar made very delicious Moroccan food during the trip. During this time of the year (December), bring more layers and warm clothes. I think a good pair of hiking shoes is recommended as the trails can get slippery. Highly recommend this trek if you want to see more of Morocco outside of the touristy Marrakech and if you love hiking.

Perfect two days in the mountains - Top experience with awesome people!
5-6 hours per day walk, day 1 is steep but doable, day 2 is more relaxed. The views are breathtaking. Go up to the plateau on day 2 to get the best views and a glimpse on mount Toubkal. Check all our pictures for a good impression!
Guide: Rachid is a very friendly guide giving us enough room and privacy. He adjusts his tempo to our moderate pace and always waits for us. He gives interesting information about the mountains and the plants.
Food: the cook Mohammed takes a headstart with the mule to insure the food is ready upon arrival. Food is abundant, fresh, varied and very tasty.
Transport: the first driver was perfectly on time, the second one was already waiting for us.
Sleeping: the refuge offered minimum but sufficient comfort.
We rented walking sticks and sleeping bags. Sleeping bag and extra blankets needed (24 December.) Both for 140 Mad total.
Communication: very fast replies and spontaneous checkup the first evening.
Believe us: take this tour if you have two days to spare.

Mustafa et Mustafa! - Incredible hike through the Atlas valley with amazing food! - What a trip! Firstly a massive thank you to Mustafa our guide who not only took care of us, but answered all our questions about Morocco, Berber culture and the Atlas mountains. Also a big thanks to Mustafa our cook and mule owner, he made us such amazing food and helped carry our belongings.
Both Mustafa's were amazing, so helpful and showed us everything Berber. We did the 2 day hike with lunch stops on both days, which saw us eating alfresco tagine, fresh salad and breads. Food was amazing, as was our stay in the Berber village, whereby Mustafa set up our table outside so we could watch village ongoings.
This trip is an excellent chance to get some distance walking in but also have some pretty epic views of the Atlas ranges and see local Berber culture. We did it during the hottest months, so was fairly difficult in the heat, would suggest leaving as early as possible to avoid the hottest part of the day.
We hired sleeping bags, but wasn't necessary as the place we stayed had blankets but was hot enough at night to not use them.
Thank you to the Mustafa's!! They were incredible guys, as well as Mohammed the taxi driver who picked up/dropped us at our hotel.
