Above and beyond - Nature did not cooperate with our quest to see the northern lights during our visit to Iceland. However, Heimir -- our tour guide -- went above and beyond in trying to make it happen!
We trekked out with Heimir our first full night in Iceland and visited several spots trying to see the lights. Heimir kept us warm and comfortable, allowing us to stay in the van while he observed the skies, constantly keeping up with the latest data coupled with his knowledge of key viewing spots. He also had full snow suits on hand for those of us who wished to venture out with him along with extra tripods for cameras and pastries.
Because we didn't see the lights on our first attempt, we were offered a second chance. Nature again was not cooperative: we had a long streak of clouds during our stay. However, Heimir was very communicative via text messaging to keep us in the loop.
Heimir did his absolute best to find the lights, kept in constant contact about the chances of seeing the aurora each day of our stay, and knows his stuff. Even though we didn't get to see the northern lights, I still highly recommend this tour.

Amazing experience - This experience was amazing, we received communication the day we arrived saying that the northern lights were going to have better possibilities on the day before our scheduled day and so we were given the opportunity to switch our days which we did. The overall experience was great, having the snow suits were a must being out in the cold environment for so many hours. Our guide was amazing and very knowledgeable. Thank you for a great start of our vacation.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Absolutely Outstanding Northern Lights Experience with Heimir - Heimir is an exceptional tour guide — truly one of the best I’ve ever met. He takes his time with every question and answers with impressive depth and clarity. You can genuinely feel how passionate he is about the Northern Lights; that passion shines through in everything he explains and in the way he guides the tour.
What sets Heimir apart is how fair, honest, and dedicated he is. He doesn’t just “show” you the Northern Lights — he makes sure you understand the science, the strategy, and the art behind chasing them. He gives you the right expectations, the right mindset, and the right appreciation for what makes this experience so special.
I would go on a tour with Heimir again any time. If you want a guide who cares, who knows his craft, and who brings unmatched enthusiasm to the Northern Lights hunt, Heimir is the one. Highly recommended.

Fabulous to experience, highly recommend - First, I will say that it is very difficult to communicate with Heimer through viatour messaging. They don’t come through for him and he is trying to get viatour to fix it. I was a bit frustrated when he would not respond and then I got a message explaining the situation. He gave me alternative methods of communicating with him and I appreciate that. However, this tour was amazing and he did a great job explaining the lights. He has such a detailed way of determining the weather and best location for viewing. He sets the best environment for viewing for hours. He has a nice spread of snacks and drinks to share with guests. This is the only tour I could find with snowsuits and I have no idea how you could do it without one (esp in December). We did not see a tremendous display but we did see some and we came away with a better understanding of the lights.

Awesome night out - We had an amazing time. We saw great Northern Lights. Our guide was so excited and his enthusiasm was contagious and added to our enjoyment. A definite bucket list item for us! We got such great photos. Snacks and snow suits were awesome as well as it was cold. Even with out the Northern Lights, we would have enjoyed the night. So many stars were visible in the sky and the company was great.

Incredible experience - Simply incredible. Our guide, Heimir, was really passionate and clearly knew what he was doing. We were able to find a great spot to see the Northern Lights without any disturbance from other groups and got amazing photos. The chairs and snowsuits were great, since it was really cold that night. Totally recommended.

Best tour in Iceland! - This tour was the best thing I done while in Iceland. Heimir Was outstanding from the get go. He was in communication with me in relation to the tour and even moved us to the following day as our original day was very cloudy and we may not of seen the lights. His enthusiasm for his job was outstanding and he was as excited as we were to finally see the lights. He kept us all informed throughout and explained how the lights become visible. We had to wait until after midnight to see them but because of Heimir explanation it made so much sense and I came away with a better understanding of aurora. As I said we were waiting a while but Heimir kept our spirits up the whole time so we didn’t lose hope. When the lights finally became visible it was breathtaking to say the least and I’m so grateful I got to experience this bucket list moment! It was so clear that night I even seen a shooting star! Having the snow suits was a major plus as it was extremely cold when we went out ( my phone said it was -10 in the location) so they kept us warm. We had hot chocolate and some Icelandic snacks too. Being able to sit on the camping chairs provided and just looking up at the sky was breathtaking too as there were so many stars. If I could give this review 10 stars I would. It was honestly the best part of my trip to Iceland and it was all down to Heimir and his knowledge and genuine love for his job.

Aurora ! - Beneath Reykjavík’s crisp night sky, the aurora danced like celestial brushstrokes—green, violet, and gold swirling in silent harmony. Time stood still as nature painted its masterpiece above. It felt like witnessing the universe whisper in color.

The best Northern Lights Tour - Heimir is truly impressive; he knows the best places to admire the Northern Lights, and it's clear he has a lot of experience. The fact that it's a small group makes it more enjoyable and interesting.
He also provided unlimited photos and a tripod for my camera. I would definitely take this tour again.
