Highlights
  • Reykjanes Peninsula - We venture far from the capital’s light pollution in search of clear skies. We have studied the aurora forecast of the Icelandic Met Office in advance and know generally the areas with a higher probability of aurora activity. Sometimes we need to try a few locations before we find the right spot. Your guide will share fun and educational stories about Iceland and the northern lights. Once we see the flickering green shimmer of the aurora, our guide will assist you with your camera settings, as well as photograph you with this stunning background. Awesome guide to Northern Lights - They made our Northern Lights small group tour happen when it was only a 2 to 3 scale to see them. The driver/guide was awesome. I understand them much better. Thank you for our tour.

Informative - Northern lights are natural phenomena and depending on the weather conditions it might not happen . We did not see the lights but our tour guide Denis was wondering and we learned a lot about the science of northern lights

Amazing northern lights! - I was picked up for my small group northern lights tour at 21.30. We drove about an hour away, kept entertained with facts ect and music if wanted. So our driver was Roman and he told us how they track the clouds ect and the likelihood of seeing the northern lights. He said that if it was impossible then the trip would have been cancelled but there was due to be a break in the clouds according to the data. However on this night we did not see the lights as the clouds just did not go away. There was a lot of waiting around in cold, but we could wait on the bus and Roman provided us with some hot chocolate and chocolates. I was disappointed obviously but it was of no fault of the company or Roman as he tried his best, even communicating with other bus drivers/companies sharing information. They did say that if we did not see the lights that we could book on again to try again within a year. The next day was my last night so I emailed bustravel and asked them if I could go again that night. They emailed me back with a ticket for that night, on the tour with Roman again. And on this night Roman found a spot where we could see the lights through our phone but not with the naked eye. Then Roman took us to another great location and there was a break in the clouds so we were lucky enough to see the phenomenal Aurora Borealis! It was truly incredible as they were all above us and dancing above us. I have an iPhone 11 and the pictures I could take were ok but Roman had a Samsung s21 I think and his pictures were amazing so he very kindly offered to take some pictures of me on his phone and email me them. He was very happy to help everyone on the trip get some great pictures - top guy! I then arrived back at my hotel at around 2.15am with a transfer to the airport to catch at 5.30am so had zero sleep but it was WELL worth it!

#Denis the guide⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ - Although we didn't see the Northern Lights on the first try, the second try was fantastic and even got better with an excellent tour person Denis the guide of Bus Travel Iceland. Very friendly, informative and attentive with all tourist passengers.

AMAZING 😍 - Firstly, a big big thank you to our guide Karol, he was so friendly, informative and funny, we all had a great time. Also we actually saw the northern lights 😍 they put in an amazing display for us (even thou the forecast was only moderate chance) karol kept driving to find the perfect spot to see the aurora, and we were totally blessed. A memory that brought tears to my eyes and one I will cherish forever 🥰

Unfortunately it was cloudy - We didn't see the lights which wasn't anyone's fault, just disappointing. Pick up and drop off was fine.

Nice but no Lights. - Our driver, I believe his name was Jon, was really nice and tried his best to get us a viewing but the Lights were just not cooperating and we didn’t see any. The hot chocolates and cookies was nice as it was very cold. The van was warm and there only were about 18 of us. We were also picked up on time. The only negative was that the two girls that sat behind us talked nonstop to each other and on the phone. I think the company should request no phone calls during the tour and that passengers keep their talking to a minimum and, at least, in low tones. It was very distracting.

Didn't get what we paid for..... - Booked a small group Photography Northern Lights trip, Wed 15th March. Was picked up and taken to the Aurora Reykjavik Centre where we spent 1/2 hr looking at exihibits. We then left with our guide and did not even get to our planned vantage point before the lights appeared. Stunning display, viewed by the side of the road! Unfortunatley we had to deal with lights from passing traffic, and it was a bit of a rush to set up camera gear etc. Unfortunately we did not receive the promised support and expert photography guidance from our tour guide, he spent the entire time taking his own photos and taking photos of group participants. These photos were shared on line later, however if you wish to receive guidance on taking your own photos, this not the trip for you. We were very dissapointed.

Not serious and not professional - They sell tickets even when they know from the weather conditions and the Icelandic Northern Lights forecast system that no Northern Lights will be seen. Finish paying for a hot chocolate and 2 hour coach ride out of town and 1 hour in town to drop off or passengers. The option to do the tour again the next day is also a joke... because most of the time the unfavorable weather conditions last for 1 week and the tourist leaves again
