Inside of Þórsmörk is different hiking possibilities depending on your wishes. On our way to Þórsmörk, we also stop the canyons like Stakkholtsgjá and even at Nauthúsagil, a small beautiful canyon.

Sights include Gígjökull where powerful glacial floods escaped during the 2010 Eyjafjallajökull eruption. Our local guides will vividly tell you much about this eruption, including stories only locals know about.

Amazing, beautiful scenery - Had a great time exploring Thorsmork with Midgard Adventure. We got to see some beautiful scenery and our guide was extremely knowledgable about the area. I definitely recommend doing a tour with Midgard and would also recommend eating at Midgard post tour as they have delicious options

Out of this world adventure! - The only way to visit Thorsmork - and the only team to take you!
Thorir was our guide and he was AMAZING! He was very knowledgeable and passionate about the area. He explained a lot about how the island was formed and the history of the volcano and glacier region, both recent and prehistoric. The various hikes and stop-offs made are custom to the day/weather/abilities of those on the tour and there were so many. We climbed an easy pathed peak for views across the valley, visited two canyons, went behind an amazing waterfall and even got lucky and saw two arctic foxes on our visit!
Can't wait to come back and use Midgard for other highland excursions. We can't say enough good things about Thorir and the whole Midgard team!!

Amazing adventure with super guide - This is a must do Adventure if you are on the south coast of Iceland. We were of group of 3 and were joined by 1 other guest and an amazing guide. Midgard does it the right way, the super jeep was spotless and traversed easily all of the rivers and streams out in Thorsmork.
We saw valleys, gorges, canyons, waterfalls, glaciers, ravines and volcanoes during our trip. There were a couple hikes along the way to get deeper and higher into the impressive areas. This was such a unique and awe-inspiring location and Palmi, our guide, made it so much fun and explained all the history and elements that made this area so special to locals.
This was the highlight adventure on our 5 day Iceland trip and I couldn't recommend Midgard (such great people and lodge), Palmi our guide, or this experience any higher 10/10

Looks like CGI - Epic day. Beautiful views throughout, adrenaline pumping river crossings, hot dogs! Side hikes, banter, photos that don’t look real.

Unhurried adventure - Everything, from stepping into the Midgard base/hotel to the trip itself and finishing with a burger before our drive back to Reykjavik, fantastic. We never felt rushed. The vehicle was clean, and the crampons provided by our guide were such a nice touch.
Our guide Raggi was super cool, so down to earth. Very safety cautious and a pro in navigating across ice covered rivers. He kindly shared his Chickpea brownie with us, too. So good!
Overall, very happy with Midgard and the tour.

A day we will always remember! Thorsmork Super Jeep Tour in winter. - On the last day of our 9-day winter trip to Iceland, we went on the Þorsmörk Super Jeep tour with Midgard Adventure. What a wonderful way to end our trip! We had booked a group tour but ended up having a private tour with our family of 4 and our fantastic guide Pálmi, who was able to safely get us across icy rivers (and even helped a few other groups that had some issues with their jeep or got stuck in one of the rivers), and gave us lots of information/explanations during the day. A fantastic adventure, with amazing landscapes and views everywhere around us. We stopped near Gígjökull, outlet glacier from the famous Eyjafjallajökull, and after a quick hike through deep snow went on to eat our packed lunch at one of the Básar cabins (Thanks Pálmi for the coffee/hot chocolate and Icelandic lava cookies/chocolates! :) . We had a wonderful walk near the cabin with stunning views of the surrounding mountains (including Katla), and saw several paw prints of arctic foxes. Our last stop on the tour was the Stakkholtsgjá canyon - another amazing spot to walk around in the wintery landscape and take many photos. We really enjoyed our tour and are so happy we found this while planning our trip to Iceland - it was a day we will always remember! Thanks Pálmi, and thanks Midgard Adventure :)

Midgard super jeep adventure Thorsmork. - Just got back from Iceland. What a place! I cannot recommend Midgard enough! Our adventure to Thorsmork was incredible with our guide Palmi.
Also want to give a shout out to Gina at Midgard for making our stay so memorable. Thanks again!

Pure adventure, breathtaking nature, moments of peace - Adventure pur! Everything was excellently organized and completely stress-free. We had booked a day tour where our guide took us to breathtakingly beautiful places that are not accessible by car in winter. We hiked to a cave and through an impressive gorge. We also climbed a path to a waterfall and enjoyed our packed lunch – very tasty and healthy – in a remote cabin where other Icelanders spent their weekend.
There were many quiet moments when we could enjoy nature to the fullest. The Superjeeptour passed through several semi-icy rivers, which impressed us particularly. Our guide was extremely experienced, and we had complete confidence in her driving skills. She told us exciting details and stories about Iceland and was a very pleasant, calm and humorous companion who does her job with a lot of passion.
The highlight was a wonderful meal at Midgard Restaurant, followed by an atmospheric concert.
Absolutely recommend!

Great tour to Porsmarck - Thoroughly enjoyed this day. Carlos was a great guide, sharing his extensive knowledge of the country which was fascinating, and showed us some absolutely beautiful areas of Porsmarck. Would definitely recommend Midgard Tours

Thorsmork super jeep - Thorsmork was the highlight of our trip. Valdi, our guide for the day, was fantastic! Very entertaining, informative and helpful on the hike. Midgard Adventures clearly love what they do, and should be very proud of what they have accomplished. We would definitely utilize their service again.
