Go and enjoy! - We loved our super jeep tour into the highlands. So nice letting someone knowledgeable and in an appropriate vehicle (not like people we saw stuck in river crossing) take us somewhere we would have never seen otherwise. I would do another one for sure. Saw lots of beautiful views even though it was a foggy, volcano hazy, sometimes rainy, day. Felt safe in the vehicle as we traveled on rough roads and through several river crossings. Enjoyed eating our lunch at the camp grounds. We had purchased 1 lunchbox from them and my husband and I shared it. It was delicious and plenty for the 2 of us. We had brought some other things along in case it wasn’t enough. We did 3 short (less than a mile) hikes. One was back into a cave area that we stepped on large rocks to get back there. If you weren’t up for the challenge you didn’t have to go. On the way back we stopped for coffee, tea, hot chocolate and chocolate covered raisins. It was a fun day!

Amazing experience in Iceland with Midgard Adventures - We traveled to Iceland in July 2025 and had an outstanding experience with Midgard Adventures. They organized a 3-day tour that fully exceeded our expectations. Olga, the organizer, and Sveinn, our guide, did an impeccable job, not only in planning but also during the trip, always taking care of us and going above and beyond to accommodate last-minute wishes. The places we visited were absolutely incredible. We were a group of 11 people, and everyone was delighted and eager to return to Iceland, as 3 days simply wasn't enough to see the country as we would have liked. When we come back, we will definitely contact Midgard Adventures again. I highly recommend their services!

Absolutely amazing! - Our experience with Midgard Adventure was absolutely incredible. We took a private super Jeep tour into Þórsmörk tour for our wedding photography session. Our guide, Alessandro, was great, and we had an amazing evening. They were flexible and it was all around just so much fun. A few days later, Midgard went above and beyond for us on our wedding day. At 6 in the morning as I got ready in Reykjavik, I decided to email Midgard to see if we could stop in at their base camp for make up touch ups before going to our ceremony location 15 minutes away. I figured we would just use the bathroom in the lobby. Harpa replied not long after saying yes of course and even showed us a private area we could use. It was incredibly kind of them. We cannot recommend Midgard Adventure enough! First two photos by Ívar Eyþórsson.

Great day...a little pricey but helped us see Iceland in a new way. - Terrific day trip which opened up the highlands for us. We've travelled to Iceland 5 times in the past 3 years but never visited this area. The scenery was much greener and lush than we've experienced in Iceland. The day focused on getting out of the Super Jeep for short hikes. It wasn't your typical bus ride looking at the scenery but encouraged us to get out and explore under the close guidance of our guide. Wear good waterproof hiking footwear because you cross several streams during the day. You can leave your belongings on the Jeep during your hikes. Take snacks and a box lunch.

Perfect day, great for families - My family did a private super-jeep tour during our time on the southern coast, and it was AMAZING! Our guide (Anna) was so experienced and kind, and she was able to answer all our questions about the terrain. She was also wonderful with our two young children, ages 5 and 8. There was no set itinerary for the day, but we told her what we hoped to see, and she planned the perfect trip. We started with a visit to a black sand beach, petted some horses, then headed back into Thorsmork. We went all the way in, did the Valahnukur hike, and then we made stops at the glacier tongue and Stakkholtsja canyon on the way out. We were fortunate to have beautiful weather, too. Thank you, Midgard, for making this unforgettable day just about perfect!

Wonderful, unique and fun! - We took a super jeep private tour to Thorsmork with our family. I have three kids, 7, 13 and 14. Carlos was our guide and he was AWESOME! I highly recommend him as guide. He adapted to our level of experience, was attentive, knowledgeable and shared a lot of great stories about Iceland. He even gave us recommendations for the next leg of our journey. Carlos is a wonderful guide.

Great way to get familiar with the Thorsmark area - OMG so good! Ragnar was great and the vehicle was incredible. It was an incredibly windy day but we were sheltered by Thorsmark. Ragnar got us to all points of interest safely as driver, guide, and historian. He even threw in an extra waterfall that was spectacular. Went above and beyond to find me when I inadvertently strayed into another group tour. Poor dude had to run uphill to locate me! Our group bonded celebrating the individual summits to the top of the Thorsmark (the “white” path is straight up.) Do yourself a favor and don’t try to drive yourself into Thorsmark unless you want to get stuck in a glacier river. Let Midgard handle it and you soak up the scenery.

Hopped into a modified Jeep. Drove to several points of interest, able to get out and either hike or look around close t - What a fun adventure! We were driven to areas not accessible by regular vehicles, the views were amazing! Our guide Carlos was fun and informative! We were able to hike or ride at various points, very flexible .

Disappointing - Icelandic nature is absolutely stunning, but the tour itself was a bit disappointing. I was under the impression—based on multiple photos in the “Traveler’s Photos” section—that the tour included a hike to the valley’s viewpoint. With a duration of seven hours, it also seemed reasonable to expect at least one substantial hike. Unfortunately, that wasn’t the case. Instead, we spent most of the day riding in a super jeep with only a few short stops. Rather than hiking to the viewpoint, we visited a small cave and had lunch. If you're looking for a more active experience this tour probably isn't what you're looking for.
