Great - totally worth the $$$$ - We had a great experience with snowmobiling. While it was raining in Vik, we had IDEAL weather for our excursion. We had a full tour of ~11 people. After about a 30 min ride into the mountains and onto the Glacier, we were led further into the mountains on the snowmobiles. We had several stops along the journey to take pictures, ride around on the snowmobiles freely, and walk around on the fresh powder. Many people in my family said it was one of their favorite excursions they have ever done. Being given free time to play on these awesome and powerful machines was something we had not experienced before. Highly recommend!

Excellent guides - Not only did we enjoy an exceptional snowmobile tour, we also got a great history lesson on the ride up and down the mountain.

Amazing - Absolutely amazing experience and an absolute must do tour whilst visiting Iceland. The drive up to the snowmobile’s was an experience in itself and I would highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Iceland. Definitely worth the money and you get a good amount of time on the snowmobiles too. One piece of advice I would give when doing this tour is if you do want to go a little faster on the snowmobiles then I would recommend getting to the front of the convoy behind the tour guide as that’s what we did and we were able to pick the pace. Absolute 10/10 experience, thank you Southcoast.is

Holiday highlight - My parents, husband and I did a morning's snowmobiling on the glacier with the team in Southcoast Adventure which was a real highlight of an amazing week in Iceland. Going up and down in the modified vehicle was nearly as cool as the snowmobiling itself. Our 2 guides were super informative and helpful and did all they could to make sure that we had a great time. Couldn't recommend them more highly

A fun experience - My husband enjoyed the experience of snowmobiling, while I enjoyed the journey to and from the base camp more. Both of the guides Ingvar and Alex, were helpful and gave us insight into the local area and the process of snowmobiling. We were given warm protective suits, helmet, goggles and gloves, to keep out the cold. At the time of our visit most of the lower snow had melted and it was misty on the glacier summit, so the view towards the south coast was good but limited. Overall the atmosphere and scenery was great and it was well worth the trip. We feel this activity is probably more suited to a younger age group that ourselves (60+), who have strong shoulders and arms, to ease the driving of the snowmobile, but it was still fun.

Highlight of Iceland trip - stunning! - Absolute highlight of Iceland trip. Cannot recommend more highly. Easy meeting point off Road 1 by Seljalanfoss waterfall..it was freezing at base camp but we were well kitted out and had the best experience up on the glacier with stunning views and away from the crowds. Windless and mild in comparison to base camp & unexpected sunshine. Perfect length of trip and although expensive (everything is in Iceland) still consider it money well spent. Interesting between volcanoes with explanations by guide.

Not so great … done this in January with another company through Viator and was much better - This glacier was not very remarkable Having done this before with another tour company I know the difference… they did not supply boots for gloves, and that was a surprise. We went in our own footwear with just regular gloves. The last company I did this with gave us head to tow gear and that was a great comfort.

Not worth it - If this was just on our tour guide Robert I'd give this a 5/5, he was great and I really enjoyed him. And the view was gorgeous. But overall, I wouldn't recommend this company again, because 1. When signing up, I bought 2 tickets for me and my partner and there's nothing that says we have to share a snowmobile but after arriving all 3 couples had to share their designated snowmobile. I let my partner drive because he loves "toys" but tbh I was really looking forward to that and I would have paid more or gotten a different putting if I had known we had to share. 2. And this REALLY irks me. I had picked the 2 PM slot for us and we were both really looking forward to it because we had been traveling from reykavik to vik and had done the northern lights the night before we were tired and looking forward to having an easy morning. The night before I check my email and see something from the company that says they "had to cancel the 2pm slot because of a storm could we come to the 10pm slot instead", we obviously didn't want to miss this experience so we said yes. But LO AND BEHOLD, at the very end of our tour, Robert mentioned he had another group coming in for the 2pm slot, so this company straight up LIED TO ME to get us to switch spots. Which is so unacceptable. Just be honest. If you overbooked, you overbooked, but why lie to me? Also, I prepared for that slot and planned my vacation and picked that day MONTHS in advance. Yeah not cool. It was gorgeous, it was a fun time, Robert was great, but I dont recommend this company.

DO BOT BOOK THIS ! OVERPRICED & WRONG LOCATION - DO NOT BOOK THIS TRIP ! For starters they are almost double the cost. Our friends went on an identical snowmobiling trip for 4 and paid $550. We paid close to $900 for 3 people. Second, the address is NOT CORRECT. We missed our reservation and they would not credit us or refund. YOU HAVE TO DOWNLOAD GOOGLE MAPS and enter “Southcoast Adventure” none of which is explained in the details. We drove 30 minutes past the location. DO NOT BOOK THEM. SEARCH FOR SNOWMOBILING THROUGH PRIVATE SITES. DONT USE VIATOR OR SOUTHCOAST. WE REGRET IT COMPLETELY. WORST PART OF ICELAND WAS THIS COMPANY.
