Sometimes we do two shorter approx. 1-hour hikes plus 3 hours around Valahnjukur circle.

Beautiful views and Great Guide - My daughter and I booked a the guided Þórsmörk Hike. Our tour guide Ragnar took us on a beautiful hike and did an excellent job encouraging me because I was the least fit of the group. He provided interesting geological and historical information for the area and Iceland as a whole as well as funny commentary. The Midgard base camp was well stocked and easy to get to. The entire experience was stress free and an amazing adventure. Would book again and recommend to all.

Absolutely gorgeous! - Wow!!! This was an absolutely incredible hike. It’s truly a place that only the locals go. We saw two people the entire day and that was at the end of the hike. The guides were fantastic. It’s not the easiest hike, so we took it slow and steady…they paced to us. The views were absolutely breathtaking. I’ve never seen Iceland like this before. I’d definitely do this hike again!
The only warning is that it’s a bumpy ride to get to the trailhead. If you get motion sickness, prepare for a front seat!

Awesome hike - Was fabulous. We departed at 9 AM and returned around 5:30 PM. The hike was great. As an added bonus, he took us to do a quick walk around the glacier which was amazing. We were able to have a lunch and a nice warm hut that had running water in bathrooms. The guy was knowledgeable friendly could not have asked for anything more.

Fantastic tour - My daughter and I had a wonderful time. I highly recommend this tour or any other Midgard Adventure offers. This tour was the high point of our trip to Iceland. The scenery was breathtaking! There were great hikes with grand vistas. Carlos was the perfect guide. Very caring and informative.

GREAT hike! - I cannot recommend this company highly enough. Our guide was outstanding. He was the perfect blend of informative, personable, with great stories and a true kindness. Everyone in our group had a wonderful hike getting to know a bit about each other while enjoying spectacular scenery.
It was the perfect amount of challenge—enough time to get out there, but not too long (about 4 hours).
Our guide even had tea, coffee and a yummy Icelandic treat (like a less sweet Kit Kat) for us at the end.
Book it, you won’t regret it!

Would give 10 stars! - I cannot speak highly enough of Midgard. We did the short day hike, and it was amazing. It takes about 1.5 hours to get into the park, which requires navigating flowing rivers. Our guide was very competent and we stopped on the way to view the glacier. The information he gave along the way was helpful and interesting. The hike itself was well thought out, and the guide explained that he chooses each hike based on factors like weather and group composition. We went up a small mountains to begin and had a great view, then returned through a valley and had lunch around 2:30 back at the hut. The park has access to bathroom facilities and water at two parking locations, so we started at one and had a break midway at the other. We got back to “base camp” around 4:15, very content. Highly recommend!

A memory we will never forget! - Our day hike tour with Ana exceeded our expectations (which were already so high)! We lucked out with the weather as the visibility was really clear and the ground was dry. The landscapes were stunning and we were still able to see some wildflowers and blueberries even though the season is ending. We fit in one very rigorous hike up Valahnúkur and down around surrounding trails, then two shorter walks nearby to see glaciers and waterfalls. If you are considering booking this trip, we would recommend that you have some level of aerobic fitness and good balance, and also that you aren't afraid of heights. Ana was awesome and had many wonderful stories to tell. Thank you Midgard, we hope to visit you again someday soon.

Beautiful trip Superjeep with hike to Thorsmork - Had a wonderful tour with a superjeep in Thorsmork including a hike of about 7 km. Everything was fine at Midgard. You were assigned a symbol for your group (we were group Vulcano) and soon after we set off with our Guide and driver Marjolein, who also happened to be a Dutchman who has lived in Iceland for 30 years. Nice ride inland. Eventually we took action ourselves and started the hike. Was doable although I would not recommend this hike for people with a fear of heights. Beautiful hike. Beautiful area. Nice lunch spot in the middle of nowhere. Packed lunches ordered from Midgard and these were surprisingly put together. Very tasty. Our Guide knew not only about the landscape but also about the various bushes and edible species of blueberries.
After returning we finished with a drink and also used dinner at Midgard Base camp.
All in all, Midgard did his business well and we enjoyed this day! Thanks also to our Guide Marjoram!

Thorsmork Valley - Guide is highly knowledgeable in the area. We did not do the “hike” described in the listing due to some muddy conditions the guy didn’t feel safe. We ended up stopping at several smaller areas where he shared his wealth of knowledge with us while we took in the beauty. We then went through the rivers to the “hike” to look over the Thorsmork valley and this was amazing views. Only thing I would hope for is more hiking in future. We chose the “hiking” tour not the super Jeep tours so only doing about 3 miles of hiking felt short for what we had hoped for.

Pleasant but too expensive & easier than advertised - It was a nice day but was expensive for what it was (even for Iceland): a normal, relatively short hike. It took the whole day because there were a lot of breaks. I found it too easy and too slow, despite the website stating it's "physical difficulty 4/5" and "off the beaten track" (although we were on a regular hiking trail).
