Staying Cool in Houston - We visited the Houston Children’s Museum and both kids and adults had a great time. The kids did the “Spy Adventure” and they loved it.

All day fun! - Plan to be there all day! I thought we would be in and out in an hour or so but there was SO MUCH to do. Both my kids (5 & 7) were thoroughly entertained with everything they had. They had everything for kids: Climbing, dancing, legos, video games, science demos, animals, water play. It was great to pay for admission and not need to buy anything else, just explore all three floors and the many things for kids of all ages.

Who knew Science, History, Math and Art could be so much fun. - Excellent diverse activities that engage children of all ages (even adults). So much to see and do both indoors and outdoors you can easily spend a day here with plenty of active and quiet spaces to break up your day. There's a separate space for toddlers to safely explore. Suggest bringing a backpack with snacks to picnic outdoors on the shaded porch in the enclosed courtyard that features a playground, water play, and nature areas. Everyone was having so much fun that they didn't notice they were learning.

Fun! Fun!! Fun!!! Me nor my children could get enough of the different power stations. My youngest loved Kidtropolis! - Family Fun! Every corner was something new and fun for my children to be involved in. They loved Kidtropolis the most. Most definitely worth the visit. Can’t wait to come back so we can stay a little longer.

children will have fun there - it has free admission on every Thursday 5-8pm, but need to line up for entrance, you can get a first time visit sticker if you visited for 1st time. Although it's free at that time period, yet you have to book the free tickets in advance, I am not sure if it is available if you walk-in. The things inside are similar to other children museum, there is area of playing water, something about physics, chemistry, animal, etc. interactive things for kids to play, I think kids aged 12 or below will enjoy it very much

Great way to spend a few hours with kids in Houston! - The Houston Children's Museum was great! It was extremely clean, with staff constantly attending to each area and ensuring all of the pieces/parts for the attractions are in place for the next child. The areas were creative and fun for our 3 kids to try out (ages 2-13.) I was impressed by the size and variety of things to see and do.

Meh. Not worth the drive and cost. - Originally being from Houston my husband and I were excited about taking our little one to CMH. After a 2.5 hour drive we arrived at the parking garage. We realized we needed to make an emergency target run. We trying to exit the card reader was not working to pay for the 3 minutes we had been parked. I pressed the help button which connected me to a parking attendant. The sound quality was terrible and all I heard was to come to the cash pay to the right. We did and attempted to had the ticket and card to the attendant that said he could only take cash and that he had told us this before we left. I explained that I couldn’t understand him through the speaker. He repeated that we said we had cash, we did not, and then he just aggressively waved us away and bumbled under his breath. If I hadn’t bought the tickets online we wouldn’t have gone back. The actual museum itself was ok. A large area was under construction. Many of the activities were not working or did not have all the needed parts. Staff working the science station just stood there talking to each other and never even acknowledged our presence. The flow works section was a complete mess and there were no staff around to maintain the area. The ONLY area that staff appeared to really be working to make it a nice experience was in the CULTURAL GALLERY. They were making sure all the items were getting returned to the correct place to be used by the next Children. Overall we felt the cost of admission was too high for what was available and functioning.
