Wonderful - This was by far our favorite experience in Costa Rica. The view of the water fall was beautiful. The horses were well trained and taken care of. Our guides were wonderful as well.

Great morning in LA fortuna - Horses were well trained and guides were great. Bring swim clothes and water shoes for the waterfall. There are 500 steps to the waterfall so would only recommend to fit travelers. Transportation was great!

This was an amazing tour.... - This was an amazing tour. Our guide was great. He took photos for us and pointed out toucans, a sloth and even a snake. The horse back ride was a lot of fun. Bring a bathing suit and water shoes. The rocks are slippery in the water by the falls. All around a great experience.

Great fun, but surprisingly hard work riding - good fitness levels needed! - I really enjoyed this trip. It is a bit scary when the horses all decide to trot and get competitive and swap places with each other though! This is a good experience for adults and teens/tweens but not suitable for young children. There was a lot of walking to do up and down to the waterfall too. The swim was lovely- lots of fish in the water and the waterfall is beautiful.

Amzing tour and views! - Our guide Cell was very pleasant and gave us a great tour. We were beginners for riding horses and they were a perfect match! The waterfall was beautiful. The walk to and from was a little bit of a hike since I'm out of shape but I made it!!!

Amazing fun, great horses, experienced guide - The best part of our trip so far! This isn’t your average horse trail ride. Our guide let us go as fast as we were comfortable with. trotting and galloping when the horses wanted to. They were well trained and it was very easy to slow them down if fast wasn’t your speed. Absolutely beautiful hike down 397 stairs to La fortuna waterfall were we got great pictures and had a fun time swimming in the natural pool. Cell was a great guide and answered all of our questions and had cool facts about the area.

A wonderful trek through beautiful lands - We had a great time out on the trek to the waterfalls. The horses are conditioned to know the trek (when to speed up/slow down) so it is very easy for beginners but perhaps a little tedious for experienced riders.

Not what was expected at all. - As stated before our guide Joshua was wonderful and I wouldn’t have been able to do it without him. The horses are in excellent condition which was great. However, I booked this tour bc I had Achilles tendinitis and wanted an easier way to see the waterfall. The tour company said it would be an easy wall from the horses. It was actually the most difficult hike we did. About 400 treacherous steps and the climbing across slippery rocks to get to the waterfall. And of course we had to go back up when we were done. There was also no stop at the Maleku Indigenous Village which we were all looking forward to.

Joshua is great. But Varco forgot us. - horseback riding to waterfall with Joshua. Joshua was amazing and the only reason for the 2 stars. Otherwise I’d give 0 stars. We booked and pod and I communicated several times including 2 days before to confirm our trip details. They were supposed to pick us up at our hotel at 8:15 am They forgot us and I had to WhatsApp Varco. (I booked through Varco). The group waited on us but the pickup was 45 late. They sent an Uber for us. The other family on our ride told us that they were told no other person would be on their ride. (Again, confirming they forgot us). An Uber picked us up. The horse ride was good. And the waterfall was amazing. The stairs back up are BRUTAL and we are very in-shape. When I booked, I communicated w Varco about the steps. And I was told that there are 2 sets of steps. And this tour was at the “half” steps. That is not true. There are one set of 500+ steps. I didn’t appreciate the “misinformation “ and I felt tricked. My husband has MS so it was an important detail. Joshua was great and that is the reason I gave this review any star since they’d forgotten us.
