Best cable car ride - The best cable car ride ever. Great views and chances to take many pictures. Then at the top we had the best crispy chicken in the mountain cafe before making the trek up to the big Buddha. Fantastic views from the top and a great chance to see the Buddha up close. Then down the steps, not for the faint hearted and off to the monastery fantastic again and coming out we saw the serpentine prayer walk by thousands of followers in the centre square. Glad I went? Hell yes.

Ngong ping 360 - Your travel vacation will never be complete if you will not try Ngong Ping 360 cable car. It is the fastest way to go Ngong Ping village , Tian Tian Buddha .Booked 2 way regular cabin as i’m afraid of heights lol. They also make sure that safety is their number 1 priority. and most specially the amazing view of Hong kong.

Long queue - Was told in the beginning that the queue was 30 minutes, ended up being 2 hours to get up and another hour of queuing to get down. Wouldn't have done it if I would've known. The views are nice but I barely had time to enjoy since I had to start queuing soon again in order to make it down before they close.

Overpriced and underwhelming - The Ngong Ping 360 is a 5.7km cable car which connects Tung Chung on Lantau Island to the Ngong Ping Village, which is the stepping off point to access Lantau’s famous ‘big Buddha’. The Ngong Ping 360 is easy to get to. Simply jump off at the MTR at Tung Chung and follow the signs to the ticket booth. Our experience was similar to those already posted on this forum. After already purchasing the ticket (And therefore being locked into the situation), we went around the corner to find a massive queue for the cablecar. For memory I remember waiting over an hour. To make matters worse, low hanging cloud meant we were basically unable to see anything on our way to the top. Similar experience on the way down. Not worth the substantial 270HK dollar return fee per adult. I would hesitate to think about how long the queues would be on a day with a better weather forecast. Personally I’d be encouraging people to consider taking the bus up to the big Buddha if you want to visit it.

Better by bus , cheap and fast ! - Over 2h waiting time are a naughty thing. And that within the week at 10 a.m. Back then again a good 60 minutes waiting time . Top ... prefer to take the much cheaper and faster bus. Pays more and saves a crazy lot of time .

Awful wait times (~2.5hrs) with no warning - The lines are ridiculously long (2.5hr waits) with no prior warning, staff are kind but would not recommend to a friend.

Horrible crowd management - Ansolutely horrible crowd management. We were there on a February weekday morning and even so the crowds were terrible, due to the fact that the ticket booths closed whenever the boarding platform for the cable car was full. However half the cabins went up half empty while there were lines down to the bus depot. Not sure who came up with this system but it doesn’t work. Even with a pre booked ticket the wait to even get in the cable car was 1.5 hours. Avoid or walk up.

Bad experience - Mainland mother's tip is completely inhuman, I took her away, she went to the front and then hit the tip, and then told the whole family to bury, so line up to do it? A good mood all day without sunshine, even the Buddha can not calm my mind.

Badly controlled cable cars queue - The crowd control is very bad. Almost one and half hour queuing to return back. With 8 persons a cabin, it should be very fast we saw long queue in Genting Highlands and crowd very quickly controlled and their cabins smaller for 6 pax only
