Khau Pha - Che Cu Nha - La Pan Tan, Full-Day Pillion Motorbike Tour
Rice Tray Viewpoint Mâm Xôi - In the afternoon, the tour continues to iconic locations in Mu Cang Chai such as Mam Xoi Hill, Mong Ngua Hill in La Pan Tan commune, and Che Cu Nha commune. The road can be quite bumpy, but the views are breathtaking. During peak tourist season (late September to mid-October), your local guide will take you to alternative sites to Mam Xoi and Mong Ngua Hill that are equally impressive, yet less crowded.
Điểm Bay Dù Lượn Khau Phạ - On the return to the homestay, we will pause at the summit of Khau Pha Pass to admire the captivating rice terraces in Lim Mong valley. As the highest point in the area overlooking vast valleys, Khau Pha Pass is a renowned spot in Vietnam for paragliding. Enjoy a dinner prepared with Thai culinary expertise. Overnight in a shared stilt house.
Batik Workshop & Trekking to Huoi Tieng Quai Forest
Lim Mong Village - Experience a full day of local life, beginning with a batik workshop. This beautiful traditional craft of the H’mong people involves creating intricate and delicate patterns: Learn about the art of beeswax drawing under the guidance of H’mong women in Khau Pha, using traditional hand-painted pens to craft your own designs.
In the afternoon, explore the Huoi Tieng Qoai nodding bamboo forest. Starting from It Thai village, ascending to Xe Xang 1, and venturing deep into the mountains, you will have the chance to meet Thai and H’mong families who rely entirely on agriculture and forest resources. Visit the natural nodding bamboo forest and return to the starting point by following the mountain’s back. Instead of heading straight back to the homestay, you will stop at a hill where a BBQ dinner awaits you.
Return to the homestay and unwind after a day with an herbal foot soak. Overnight at homestay.
Indigo Dyeing Workshop & Trekking to Tiger Mountain
Lim Mong Village - After breakfast at the homestay, join the village’s grandmother in a hands-on dyeing workshop. Indigo dyeing is a cultural tradition in Khau Pha, aiming to produce a deep blue color from natural sources for the traditional attire of Thai and H’mong people: Discover the story of indigo and create your own hand-dyed item.
These practices may have faded in other regions with modern advancements, but the people of Mu Cang Chai continue to uphold these traditions in their daily lives, with indigo dyeing being one of them.
In the afternoon, take a leisurely walk to the other side of the expansive Lim Mong Valley or hike to the top of Tiger Mountain, where you can enjoy stunning views of both Lim Long Valley and Tu Le Valley. There is also a playground at the summit to enjoy while taking in the magnificent scenery.
Dinner with your host at the homestay.
