Day 01: Ha Noi – Ba Be lake.

Ba Be National Park - Embark on an adventurous overland car journey to a hidden gem with stunning natural landscapes.

In the morning, travel by private car to Ba Be lake.

• Arrive at Ba Be lake and Pac Ngoi minority village of the Tay People by 1:00 PM.

Enjoy lunch with a Tay minority family, where we will also spend the night.

• Take a motorboat around the central lake within the national park.

• Follow the Nang river to visit Puong cave, take a short rest, and enjoy lunch in a local house.

• Walk to Dau Dang waterfall, then continue the boat trip back to Ba Be lake.

• Enjoy swimming in the natural lake.

• Return by boat to Pac Ngoi village.

• Dinner and overnight stay in the village.

Day 02: Ba Be - Cao Bang for a magnificent waterfall

Ban Gioc Waterfall - Detian Falls - Drive 160km from Ba Be lake to Cao Bang.

• Check into the hotel upon arrival and then have lunch.

• Drive to Ban Gioc waterfall, known to adventurous travelers as the most magnificent in Vietnam.

• Enjoy a refreshing swim at the waterfall’s base, and with a permit, you can briefly see neighboring China.

• Visit Nguom Ngao cave, then drive back to Cao Bang.

• Dinner and overnight stay in Cao Bang.

Day 03: Cao Bang – Bao Lac – Meo Vac

Meo Vac - Today, we will take a special drive through the Northeastern forest and mountains to one of the most beautiful areas in the country.

• Take stunning photos and visit scattered villages along the loop paths.

• Arrive in Meo Vac, an untouched small town on the nation’s frontier, by 4:00 PM.

• Check into the hotel for an overnight stay.

Day 04: Meo Vac – Dong Van – The Palace of Cat King – Yen Minh – Quan Ba – Ha Giang

Dinh Vua Meo - Dong Van and Meo Vac are the highest frontier points of Vietnam, bordering China. Once a restricted area, it is now open to adventurous visitors. The rugged rock mountains are high and sharp, and it took local people six years to construct 20km of road. Workers had to hang themselves on the cliffs to work, and after 11 months, the road was completed and named The Road of Happiness.

• At 8:30 AM, head up the unique thread road to Dong Van, located in the Karst Park, recently recognized as a World Heritage site.

• Drive over the Ma Pi Leng Pass, so high that horses passing by have to bend their knees to rest.

• Enjoy spectacular landscapes and take stunning photos at the Heaven Gate. You can get a 360-degree view of the mountains, primitive jungles, and the graceful Nho Que river winding along the mountain sides to the Red River delta.

Quan Ba - Visit the Palace of Cat King (the King of the H’mong minority), who before 1945 did not support the French in Vietnam or Tuong Gioi Thach in China. He took power and dominated over 70,000 H’mong people in Northeast and Northwest Vietnam as his autonomous territory, with the capital in Dong Van. After 1945, he followed Ho Chi Minh.

• Lunch in Dong Van frontier town.

• After lunch, continue driving through Yen Minh towards Ha Giang. You will see the beautiful Fairy Bosom mountain, the symbol of Ha Giang.

• Drive past Quan Ba to reach Ha Giang provincial town.

• Stay in a quiet eco-resort by the Lo river.

• Dinner and enjoy our final night in the mountain area.

Day 05: Ha Giang – Tuyen Quang – Ha Noi

Ha Giang - Have breakfast at the hotel, check out, and then drive parallel to the Lo river to reach Tuyen Quang.

• Visit the Citadel of the Ho dynasty in Tuyen Quang.

• After lunch, drive straight back to Hanoi, arriving around 5:00 PM.

• Drop off at your hotel – end of the trip.
