• Old House - The tour guide will greet guests at hotels or locations within Hanoi’s Old Quarter to begin an exploration of the area. For those not requiring hotel pickup, the meeting point is the Cultural Exchange Center at 50 Dao Duy Tu Street. The first stop is The Old House at No.87 Ma May Street, one of 14 historic houses in Hanoi from the late 19th century that has preserved its original characteristics. It is a popular destination for those interested in the traditional lifestyle of Hanoians. The house showcases the typical tubular architecture of old Hanoi, characterized by its narrow yet deep structure.

• Bach Ma Temple - Situated in the heart of the Old Quarter, the quaint Bach Ma Temple, meaning ‘White Horse Temple,’ is reputed to be the city’s oldest temple. Although much of its current form dates back to the 18th century, a Confucius shrine was added in 1839. Originally constructed by Emperor Ly Thai To in the 11th century, it was built to honor a white horse that led him to this location, where he decided to erect his city walls. Bach Ma Temple was one of the four district gate temples of the ancient Thang Long citadel. Visitors enter through ancient wooden doors to discover a beautifully adorned interior, featuring a red-lacquered funeral palanquin, a statue of the white horse, a Confucius shrine, and a Phoenix Altar for seasonal offerings.
