- Sơn Tây Old Fortress - 10:00 Visit Son Tay citadel built in 1822 - a Vauban fortification and a masterpiece of Vietnamese architecture. The landmark, covering a total area of 16 ha, not only bears historic value but also attracts increasing attention for its unique architecture. Tourists are able to see the remains of the once famous military rampart while enjoying the peace and quiet. It used to be one of the four major townships defending Thăng Long (Hà Nội), located in the west of the capital. The site contains many vestiges reflecting the Vietnamese people’s indomitable struggle, loyalty and resilience in the fights against foreign invaders. Though it was among 20 citadels built in Nguyễn Dynasty, it was the only one built entirely of laterite, a good material for defensive building that is available locally.
- Mong Phu village hall - Mong Phu Temple is located on one of the central and tallest places of the village and is about 1,800 sq.m in size. The temple was built in 1533 under the reign of King Mac Dang Doanh. It was renovated in early 19th century but still keeps basic and original architecture.
- Duong Lam Ancient Village - Then arrive at center of Duong Lam village. On the way, you see a natural holy “milking-well” storing clear water all the year round. It is believed that childless couple can give a birth if drinking this water. Today, Duong lam village still retains most of the basic characteristics of a village of Vietnam with port village, trees, courtyard, temples, well, water fields… The roads of Duong lam were special because they have the shape as the bones of fish. Some features are still kept in Duong Lam ancient village is the old village gate in Mong Phu village.

Great experience! - We had a wonderful day trip to Duong Lam Ancient village. Out tour guide took me to a 400 year-old house, rustic area, a historical vestige Son Tay Fortress. The first moment we arrived the village, I was impressed by a unique village gate, very old and nice one. I also had an authentic experience.
