- Falljökull - If you have never seen a glacier before and you would like to experience these stunning ice giants a little bit closer, come to the breathtaking area of Skaftafell. Skaftafell is located in Vatnajökull national park, the filming location of movies like Batman Begins, Interstellar and the Game of Thrones series. To maximize the time spent on ice, we drive all the way to the terminus of Falljökull glacier in our 4×4 truck. Before you step on to the ice you will learn the proper way to put on and use the provided glacier gear. We aim to spend around one and a half hour on the ice, exploring moulins, crevasses and more other-wordly formations. Along the way your guide will share ineresting facts about these formations and the origins of the glacier as well as interesting local stories.

Great small group experience - This was a great tour. Going with a small group- my family and one other- made a huge difference. Not only did we get the individual attention of our guide, we were also able to start closer to the glacier than the big groups, which saved a 40 min round trip hike in and allowed for much more time to enjoy the glacier,

Fantastic glacier hike with Kate! - Kate was our guide and she did a fantastic job getting our small group of 7 outfitted with gear and prepped for our 2 hour glacier hike. She was energetic, knowledgeable, and took us to several magical spots on the glacier. This hike was a perfect length and easy/moderate level of challenge for this group of 30-60 year olds!!

An excellent, small-group, glacier-climbing excursion - We had a great hike on the base of the glacier. Jan drove us to the glacier in his Land Rover Defender and then lead five of us onto the ice with crampons and ice picks. It was much better being in a small group than one of the large groups that looked like they did much less. We explored a good portion of the lower glacier and scrambled over an ice wall. All in all a fantastic experience! I had wanted to do something like this since reading about walking on glaciers in the National Geographic magazine many years ago.

Beautiful hike with knowledgeable guide. Kate went out of her way to ensure we had a unique experience. - Beautiful hike. Unique experience. Guide was well equipped and knowledgeable. There were lots of other tour groups coming and going. Groups of 8 felt like the right size; others too big and difficult to maneuver. Kate was an all around awesome guide and hiking on a glacier speaks for itself!

Incredible glacier hike - Javi was a fantastic guide on our glacier hike! He was educational and fun & helped everyone with gear and taking great photos. Highly recommend this great hike on a glacier that is sadly disappearing too quickly!

Glacier Hike - fun experience ... thankful we chose extra small group and had close access to the glacier. i think it was great also that we went first thing in the morning. definitely was getting crazy busy by the time we were leaving.
