• Takehara Townscape Preservation Area - The tour commences at Hiroshima Station at 8:00 AM. The guide will meet participants by the Shinkansen Gates beneath the Tourist Information sign. From there, the group will proceed to the first stop, the Takehara Townscape Conservation Area. In this historic area, the guide will lead a brief walk along the main street, pausing at various points to share insights and historical details about the sites. Participants will have the opportunity to view historical family homes, explore Edo period temples, and soak in the townscape’s nostalgic charm. A visit to the Okakae Jizō Statue, believed to fulfill the wishes of those who lift it, is also included. Following this, the guide will escort the group to Tadanoumi Port, where they will board a ferry to Rabbit Island.
• Okunoshima Island - At the port, there will be an opportunity to purchase souvenirs or food for the island’s rabbits. The tour includes the cost of one bag of rabbit food, but additional purchases or bringing personal supplies is welcome. Japanese visitors often bring fresh produce from home to feed the rabbits, and participants are encouraged to do the same.
  Upon arrival on the island, the guide will lead a short walk along the coast, stopping at various ruins to discuss the island’s somber history. Sites visited include the Power Station Ruins and the Nagaura Poison Gas Storehouse Ruins. Participants will learn about the island’s role in Japan’s military history and the effects of chemical weapons production on its inhabitants.

The tour concludes with a final ferry ride back to the mainland and a bus journey to Hiroshima Station, where the guide will bid farewell in front of the Shinkansen gates.
