Hiroshima, a must-visit when in Japan. - We booked the 4 hr Hiroshima private tour a month before departure. A week before flying, Mrs. Minami Koh contacted us through Whatsapp. Mrs. Koh wanted to make sure we knew how to get to the meeting point coming from Tokyo. This was very reassuring and we felt we were in great hands. Upon arrival, our guide - Mrs. Sakamoto - was waiting for us at the Bus station. The trip from Tokyo was very easy and we were happy to meet her. Mrs. Sakamoto spoke perfect English and being a local she was able to share in-depth knowledge about Hiroshima's history and traditions. Our tour focused mainly on the Atomic Bomb Dome and the Peace Memorial Park and Museum. But we spent quite a bit of time at the incredibly beautiful Shukkei-en Garden. While traveling from one place to another with Mrs. Sakamoto we couldn't help but notice the beauty all around us and how much Hiroshima has to offer. I wish we had stayed longer... We are grateful Mrs. Sakamoto was very patient with us and shared so much information.

A very informative tour with Ms. Mayu - I was interested mostly in the WW2 history aspect of Hiroshima. I was very fortunate to have had Ms. Mayu as my guide. She is a native of Hiroshima, with excellent English, and she threaded a very nice walk through the main locations relevant to the nuclear bomb drop. In addition to explaining the key monuments and events, I very much appreciated her examples of how it affects life even today in subtle ways.

It was very moving.... - It was very moving. Actually, the most moving part was that our guide’s 95-year-old mother survived the bomb but her mother’s pregnant sister and mother, who were with her, did not. Her mother was trapped under rubble for 14 hours until a passing German priest heard her cries and he dug her out. Being buried is what saved her from the fallout and black rain. When she dies, her name will be placed inside a sarcophagus that’s part of the monument to victims of the A-Bomb.

Yes book this one!! - Great personalized 4 hour private tour. We were able to see the peace memorial, the atomic bomb memorial and meyjing island with the floating Torii gate. Our guide was knowledgeable and made sure we made it to our next destination, Kyoto with detail instructions. Wonderful day and great experience! Book it now!!

I highly recommend this tour. - Go see the Atomic Bomb Dome, and the Peace Memorial Park area before visiting the Hiroshima Peace Memorial Hall museum. Our tour guide, Nao, was very efficient. She was very accommodating, and flexible. We told her we wanted to eat lunch and shop, and took us to YouMe. She gave us dining suggestions, and showed us where to hail a taxi. We got back to the cruise port safely.

Informative and personal - Nao was a very sweet and friendly Japanese guide. She proudly explained everything about the Peace Park which is a very moving experience. She was also flexible to deviate from the itinerary because we wanted to eat typical ramen. She was even able to persuade the restaurant to reopen (they had just closed) to serve us. She was patient with out walking difficulties and slow pace. Definitely a good day in Hiroshima.
