Highlights
  • Hiroshima Peace Memorial Museum - Hiroshima’s Peace Memorial Park (平和記念公園, Heiwa Kinen Kōen) is one of the most prominent features of the city. Even visitors not looking for it will likely stumble upon the large park of over 120,000 square meters. Its trees, lawns, and walking paths are in stark contrast to the surrounding downtown area.

Before the bomb, the area of what is now the Peace Park was the political and commercial heart of the city. For this reason, it was chosen as the pilot’s target. Four years to the day after the bomb was dropped, it was decided that the area would not be redeveloped but instead devoted to peace memorial facilities.

The beauty and history of Hiroshima - We had a wonderful four hours with our guide, Yuko. She was very knowledgeable about the city she calls home, giving us a a unique and personalized perspective of this beautiful city full of both joy and sorrow. My family highly recommends Yuko as a guide. Her English was fantastic and she navigated the city with ease and comfort in mind. This tour was definitely a highlight of our trip to Japan. Excellent Informative Tour with Wonderful Guide! - We were 3 generations on a cruise excursion and we all thoroughly enjoyed spending time with our tour guide, Sei. A lovely, kind man who is passionate about sharing information about his city, Hiroshima. We went through the Peace Memorial Museum and walked around the park. In my opinion, everyone who goes to Hiroshima, should visit the museum. Note: this was one of several (private tours) I booked with Japan Guide Agency - every tour was fantastic. They have excellent service always keeping me updated and have wonderful guides - all informative, kind and communicate well in English. I would highly recommend using this agency, if you want to simplify booking and be guaranteed a great tour.

A must do tour in Hiroshima - I am trying to review the 5 Hour Hiroshima Peace Walking Tour at World Heritage Sites with Eri. So I will review this tour not the ones you offer me to pick to review. The 5 Hour Tour with Eri of Magical Trip gave my husband and I an amazing insight into what occurred on August 6, 1945 when the A Bomb was dropped on Hiroshima. The personal stories Eri shared from survivors made it even more poignant although the Museum, which is amazing, was a little confronting at times - but beautifully done. I think every visitor to Japan should come to Hiroshima and visits these sites, not to lay blame, but to continue the fight for peace. We also had some fun on the tour making our Cranes, watching them fly and then we all enjoyed a great lunch to end the tour, I can thoroughly recommend this tour with Eri. Don't miss it.

Excellent tour - This was an excellent tour. Eiji was knowledgeable and the tour was really well organised. We went to Shukkeien Garden, a beautifully traditional Japanese Garden. Then we walked to the Peace Memorial. You need to get ready for the museum, it is one of the most emotional I have been too but also one of the best. I highly recommend this tour but I would advise you do not bring children under 12. Firstly because you walk a lot and second because the museum is intense.

Historical Excellence! - Sei was a wonderful tour guide for us. He brought us to all the sites and explained their historical significance so even our pre-teen/teenagers could understand the importance of what happened in Hiroshima. He tailored the tour to fit our needs and it was just the right amount for the time we had. Would recommend this to anyone wanting to learn the history pre- and post- bombing. Thank you Sei for a wonderful tour!
