• Hiroshima Peace Memorial Museum - Situated in a vast park commemorating the first atomic bomb explosion, this museum showcases belongings of the victims, photographs, and other materials illustrating the event’s horror. It also features exhibits on Hiroshima before and after the bombings and the current nuclear age.

• Hiroshima Castle - Featuring all the elements of a medieval fortress, Hiroshima Castle includes a large moat, massive stone walls, bridges, and baileys. Originally constructed in the 1590s, it was rebuilt in 1958 after being destroyed by the atomic bomb.
