- Murotsu Port - Historically, this cove, surrounded by mountains on three sides, was so serene it was named “Muro no Tomari,” meaning “a harbor as tranquil as a room.” In the era of sailing ships, it thrived as a significant port in the Seto Inland Sea. Recently, cultural assets related to the Kitamaebune ships of Murotsu have been acknowledged as a Japan Heritage site.
