Holy s**t that was great! - That was SO MUCH FUN!!! I was not expecting this amount of adrenaline going through the course. Francisco had everything covered throughout and it was fantastic! Can't wait to go back! Make sure to ask for Francisco as the group leader for fun times!

Fun excursion - So fun and the tour guides were awesome! Safe for kids and the photographers take great photos. The cave experience is a very small area and tons of people, we did not get in the water there due to the amount of people.

Decent experience - Pick up was great, our driver was on time and they responded quickly to my messages. I also booked this at 9am for a 2:30 excursion so I liked that they were able to accommodate a last min booking. We got to the place 1 hr later after picking up other people at 2 different hotels. Once we got there, it was a decent place where you can purchase drinks, snacks, face coverings and gifts. You can purchase water shoes if you don’t have any close toed shoes but I opted not to, I’ll explain on that later. They accept credit cards. Bring your ID or at least have a picture of it bc they take copies of the person who booked the reservation. I enjoyed at the briefing they tell you what to do/not to do with locals and tips on bartering. We had a decent buggy that was fast and didn’t have any issues. In case you did though, they have people in your tour group that can help. Now… if you are expecting to go whipping through the dirt roads, you won’t be. Your group is in a line and you follow each other which is led by the guide so really the only time we were going fast was when we were catching up. It took about 20-25 min to get to Macao beach which was BEAUTIFUL but they said we only had 25 min there and that was more like 15-20 and then we left which was unfortunate. There’s drinks and food you can purchase there too. Then we went to the plantation that makes chocolate, cigars, mamajuana and coffee which they do give you free samples (the chocolate was so good and my husband got a cigar that he said was amazing). We left about 20 min later and went to the cenote. This is where you would need those water shoes so if you don’t plan on swimming there, it’s really not necessary. Now… the site is pretty but it’s DARK. you can’t see what you are jumping into unless someone had a flash on their camera go off or a light and because of that, I got scared and didn’t do it lol. However, the jump in was not deep down but still scary nonetheless and people still did it. This experience was also very rushed. The worst part was figuring out transportation at the end. They had the vans there but then they argued about who was taking people where, shuffling people around and we sat in the van at least 20min before they finally figured it out and got us moving. At this point, I was done with the experience and just wanted to leave especially knowing we had about an hr drive back with stops and such. That could definitely use some better organization but otherwise things ran smooth. For reference, we got picked up at 1:45 and didn’t return back to the resort until about 8pm. Overall, I’d say that it was OK but I wish we got to spend more time at the sites rather than driving. I don’t think I’d do an excursion like this again but the experience was cool.

Cave was so crowded - The staff were awesome - fun and energetic, and the buggys were so much fun - we definitely got muddy! We started at the beach which was beautiful, though there were people trying to sell stuff. The cave stop was absolutely miserable. There were hundreds of people in a tiny space and you couldn’t get anywhere near the water, nevermind go in it. And we went in the offseason, I can’t imagine what it is like in busy months. We loved the buggys, but only liked 1 of the 3 stops.

Rushed experience - Owner is very nice, but the experience as a whole felt rushed. 25 minutes at the beach and 15 minutes at the cave. We spent more time at the sale stop than the other locations. The rest was spent stopping and going in a caterpillar formation on the very dry and dusty road.

Decent but let down by pick-up - Good and enjoyable activity but spoiled by buggy breakdowns which seemed to be happening regularly. We hired two buggies and both broke and we ended up needing to use a quad for a while. We also didn’t get picked up from our hotel initially. We were waiting for 50 minutes and having chased the tour operators they agreed to come back and collect us but that delayed the experience for everyone else.

Don’t waste your day on vacation - Long wait for pickup and crowded. Little time at beach or cave. Stops trying to sell you drinks, cigars, or other stuff.

Money Grab - This excursion is a money grab. Pls think twice before booking this. The cars died on me twice leaving me way behind the rest of the group, out in the middle of no where. To be honest I didn’t feel safe at all. Once you get to the beach you will be hounded by people begging you to buy whatever they are selling, and within 10 minutes you will be forced to leave the beach.

DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS TOUR - I wouldn't recommend this tour. The whole tour felt rushed, overpriced and unsafe. The buggies are dilapidated, our buggy had barely functioning brakes. Lots of waiting around in the scorching sun for the tour guides to herd the other guests. Lots of other tourists openly drinking beer while driving. Buggy ride was fun once we actually got going, despite the fact that the brakes didn't work on our buggy. Playa Macao was amazing but constantly hounded by people selling things, very little time to enjoy beach. The coffee/chocolate 'plantation' is just a shop where they give you a small cup of coffee and then try to sell you everything possible. Macao Cave is awful. Overcrowded, dangerous, complete chaos, full of tourists swimming over each other with no regard for safety, and again loads of locals trying to sell you everything they can. Overall not worth the money and time for this excursion.
