Immerse yourself in the world of Outlander with the Invergordon Outlander tour. Explore the stunning locations that inspired the series and discover the history and beauty of Scotland. Customize your day and make it truly unforgettable.
- Clava Cairns - Begin your day by touching the stone that transported Claire back 200 years before the renowned Battle of Culloden.
- Culloden Battlefield - This is the site of the Battle of Culloden. Take a stroll around the battlefield, locate the Fraser stone, and enjoy a 4D cinema experience that immerses you in the battle.
- Culloden House Hotel - Bonnie Prince Charlie used this as his headquarters before the Battle of Culloden. It also appears in the Outlander series, though it is not the filming location.
- Urquhart Castle - In OUTLANDER, Chapter 19: The Waterhorse, Claire goes down to the shore of Loch Ness to wash up before supper. There, she encounters a creature in the water, sensing it is like her, from another time. The encounter with the unusual, likely prehistoric, creature did not frighten her.
Urquhart was partially destroyed in 1692 to prevent its use by Jacobite forces and subsequently fell into decay. In the 20th century, it was placed under state care as a scheduled monument and opened to the public. It is now one of the most-visited castles in Scotland.
- Beauly Priory - Your final stop on our tour is the priory in Beauly. This 15th-century priory is the last link of the day for us. From here, Jamie Fraser left for France, and perhaps the grave we found of James Fraser has a possible connection?
- The Singleton Distillery - Our final stop of the day for a whisky slangavar.
- Air-conditioned transportation
- admission fees
If you wish to allocate extra time to any site, or add an additional experience, please inform us. We have cherry-picked places that we believe played a key role in shaping the Outlander series and are accessible throughout the year. Do note, some sites from other tours might not always be available, such as Castle Leoch (Leod).
Please be aware that this tour does not cover entrance fees to Urquhart Castle or Fort George.
