- The Falls of Foyers - Located further along the south side of Loch Ness in the quaint village of Foyers, the Falls of Foyers is a magnificent waterfall with a 140ft drop into a gorge that meanders through tall trees before reaching Loch Ness.
The path leads through enchanting woodland, where you might spot elusive red squirrels, and descends steep steps to the first of two viewpoints. At the upper viewpoint, the surrounding rocks open up to provide a spectacular full view of the falls, perfect for capturing amazing photos.
For those eager to explore further, the path continues down more steep steps to the lower viewpoint or along the gorge to the shores of Loch Ness.
The landscape changes with the seasons, and the snow melt, rainfall, or even the sunny summer months alter the flow of the falls, transforming from a gentle trickle to a dramatic surge overnight.
- Strathdearn - The journey from Foyers to Tomatin takes travelers along some of The Highlands’ most narrow and winding roads, over The Garbole mountain pass, before arriving at The Strathdearn Community Hub and Three Bridges Cafe. Here, visitors can enjoy a snack and takeaway coffee or relax and enjoy the view along the strath from the cafe.

Loch an Eilein - Nestled in the forest of Rothiemurchus, this beautiful spot is one of Scotland’s most cherished. Loch an Eilein (loch of the island), with its island castle ruin and stunning forest and hill surroundings, has been a favorite for countless visitors over the centuries. It’s no wonder Loch an Eilein was voted Britain’s Favourite Picnic Spot in a poll by Warburtons for National Bread Week.
Visitors can explore at their own pace; a short walk from the car park reveals dramatic views of ancient pine trees, mountains, and the castle. A 3-mile (5-kilometer) walk along some of Scotland’s best low-level paths, part of the Rothiemurchus trail network, circles the loch. - Cairngorm Mountain - Offering activities for families and visitors of all ages, Cairngorm Mountain is open year-round and becomes Scotland’s premier ski resort in winter. Known for Scotland’s only mountain railway, visitors can reach the UK’s highest restaurant and bar in just 8 minutes.
Adjacent to the restaurant is a 270° immersive exhibition space showcasing the stunning landscape, while at the Cairngorm Learning Zone, children can enjoy interactive 3D sandboxes to create their own natural environments. The extensive viewing terrace offers panoramic views at 1,097 meters above sea level.

Loch Morlich - A beautiful beach set in the stunning Cairngorms and Glenmor Forest
Loch Morlich boasts one of the most picturesque settings of any loch in the country. Surrounded by forests and bordered by beaches, it features the stunning backdrop of the often snow-capped peaks of the northern Cairngorms. - Strathspey Railway - (Aviemore, Station) - Enjoy a journey on The Strathspey Steam Railway from Aviemore to Broomhill (Nethy Bridge). Meet at Broomhill, and depending on the time of day, take a stroll around Nethy Bridge (the forest village), tour the brand new Cairn Distillery, or head back towards Inverness via The Tomatin Distillery.
- Tomatin Distillery Visitor Centre - Tomatin is more than just another whisky distillery. Since 1897, they have dedicated themselves to building the Tomatin community, which is central to everything they do. Visitors can stop by their sampling room to enjoy a dram or perhaps a flight of their exceptional whisky.
