Starting in the busy Glenfinnan area where we describe all the sights and detail the history of the village both old and modern. We soon whisk you off down the loch to the land of eagles, deer, Harry Potter landmarks and the home of the MacDonalds of Glenaladale.
Gaskan cottage was the home of well known naturalist Mike Tomkies for many years whilst he studied and wrote of the local wildlife, especially the eagles and wildcats there. It can only be accessed by boat or very long walk so this part of the loch is very serene and unspoilt.
This cruise returns to Glenfinnan jetty.

Park at Glenfinnan House Hotel and follow the path past the hotel's front door along the shore to the jetty. People reduced mobility can be dropped directly at the jetty.

Eagle spotting and Loch history cruise - As part of our 50th Wedding anniversary celebrations, we took the afternoon Loch Shiel Cruise. The crew, Aly and Liam were outstanding, Aly being Captain and terrific wildlife photographer and Loch,Scottish history and film location expert Liam gave a wonderful and informative commentary as we cruised the loch spotting, Stags and birds including the magnificent White Tail Eagles. Terrific VFM and also drinks available soft drinks/coffee or a wee dram to toast your occasion. Highly recommended👍🏻

Incredible scenery and sea eagles. - We had a fantastic cruise. It was so beautiful and we saw sea eagles which was amazing. The skipper was great, so knowledgeable about the area and the wildlife. Would highly recommend. Thank you

Eagle cruise on Loch Shiel - The Captain and crew were absolutely great. They were informative, entertaining and tried hard to make sure we saw eagles... which we did! Would definitely recommend this trip. Drinks and snacks are available too. It was excellent and I would do it again.

Unmissable!!! - The boat cruise on Loch Shiel was absolutely incredible—without a doubt, the best loch cruise we have done in Scotland. From the moment we set off, the scenery was breathtaking, with stunning views all around. The skipper was not only friendly but impressively knowledgeable, sharing fascinating insights about the loch and its wildlife. Speaking of wildlife, we were lucky enough to spot red deer and magnificent white-tailed sea eagles, making the journey even more memorable.
The onboard refreshments were a great touch, offering a lovely selection to enjoy as we soaked in the surroundings. Time flew by, and before we knew it, the 2.5 hours had passed in a blur of beauty and discovery. An unforgettable experience—I’d highly recommend it.

Fantastic Sea Eagle Experience - This cruise was absolutely amazing!
Friendly staff, who did everything they could to make you welcome onboard. We met some lovely people and the Sea Eagles stole the show. We would highly recommend and hope to visit again

Gaskan cruise - We did the two and a half hour afternoon trip , absolutely brilliant , we saw two Golden Eagles all be it at quite some distance away followed by a White Tail Eagle relatively close , absolutely awesome .

Loch Shiel at its finest - Loch Shiel is a beautiful freshwater loch that's 18 miles long and the best way to see the entire length is via Loch Shiel Cruises. Captain Ali is a great skipper, Peter can see white-tailed eagles coming from miles away, and Robbie has all the local geological and historical information at his fingertips including the journey of Bonnie Prince Charlie to the head of the loch where he began his ill-fated quest to take over the British throne in the Jacobite rebellion. On the cruise I was on, we saw two white-tailed eagles diving for fish in the loch close to the boat as well golden eagles, buzzard, waterfowl, and sea birds who were on holiday from the nearby coast. The scenery is beautiful and the variety of trees is gorgeous with many shades of green dotting the steep sides. The bare mountains have great grandeur.

Outstanding trip - Absolutely outstanding trip,ally and robbie were excellent hosts and the boat and the scenery were beautiful. Excellent photo opportunities of sea eagles ,golden eagles and red and black throated divers

Very enjoyable trip - Really enjoyed our trip today. Made us and our dogs very welcome. Helpful and friendly guides. Great views of White Tailed Sea Eagle, Golden Eagle and Red Throated Divers. Recommended.

Awesome experience! - An excellent cruise, led by a skilled and competent skipper. We were delighted to see White-tailed sea eagles on reaching Gaskan and were given plenty of time to get some photographs. Very informative commentary on places of interest along the way. Would definitely book again if we are up this way!
