Saijo Sake Tour - I would like to express my heartfelt gratitude for this opportunity to try Saijo's many famous sakes. The tour began with an introduction to the history of Saijo sake, followed by a tour of the manufacturing process and historic architecture, a taste of food and sake pairings, and a tour of the restaurants that sell Saijo sake, all of which are famous for their sake. I was very moved by such a fulfilling content. Thanks to the staff who gave me detailed explanations and paid careful attention to the physical condition and situation of each participant, I was able to enjoy it with peace of mind even if I am not very good at drinking. Through this tour, I was able to feel Saijo's charm even more deeply and spend valuable time. If you have the opportunity, I would encourage you to visit Saijo and join this amazing tour. I really recommend it.

There’s More to Hiroshima—Explore the World of Sake in Saijo - The world of sake can be quite hard to dive into if you don’t know where to look. This tour, which is easily joinable from Hiroshima, takes you into the heart of Saijo, a part of the prefecture known for its breweries. Conducted in English, it gives you the chance to tour several of Saijo’s breweries and taste all of their sake. It’s a great way to eke out a bit more of Hiroshima Prefecture and experience a side of Japanese culture many tourists miss out on.

A Guided Tour of Saijo Breweries with Tastings - The guide met us at the Saijo train station, about an hour away from the center of Hiroshima. After a short introduction, we visited all seven of Saijo's sake breweries. The guide was very friendly, spoke good English, and shared many small tidbits about Saijo during the walks between the breweries. At each stop, we learned the history of the respective brewery and tasted at least one sample of their product. One of the breweries was closed to the public on the day, but we were still allowed in with the guide. We were also given an opportunity to taste one of the sakes that are unavailable most of the time and require advanced notice. The timetable of the tour was really good - we didn't spend too much time at any one place, but we also weren't in a rush. We had plenty of time after the tour to go back to the breweries, buy the bottles that we liked the most, and then walk around Saijo for a bit. Overall, I really recommend the tour, as it would've been much harder and much more confusing to attempt something similar on our own.
