Amazing adventure - It was a very adventurous trip. We traveled on a very bumpy road in a large jeep for about 40 minutes to get to the cave , then we hiked up for about 30 minutes to get to the cave entrance . We explored the amazing dark colorful ice cave for about one hour hiking on a rocky path sometimes steep . There were many tour groups but our guide was great. He made sure we were all safe and together and took our group pictures. He was very knowledgeable and funny. You need to be able to endure the darkness and in shape to hike the steep path and to keep up with the group. It was a very adventurous tour and we loved it.

A lifetime Unpresidented experience - It’s an ice cave on the Breiðamerkurjökull glacier at Vatnajökull National Park. Very much experienced company operates the tour. The tour starts at the Jökulsárlón lake parking area. Our time was 1 pm in early October 2024. The weather was perfect. They drove 12 -14 ( a group) together in a van for more than 30 minutes. Then we have to walk for another 10/15 minutes. The walking is treacherous and my wife was unfit for that. Our guide ( a lady around 25-30 years personal took hold of my wife till the cave. Without her our tour would have been incomplete. She even fixed the spike on her shoes. Then we have to walk on the glacier for 5 minutes before waiting for another 10 minutes till the previous group vacates the cave. It was a lifetime experience. As such the ice is not blue, rather covered by black ash from the volcanic mountain. But the perfect weather with bright sun rays makes the cave appear blue. The time of the day is important otherwise someone got his heartened. Over all our experience was excellent. We shall keep it in our memory for the whole life possibly.

Incredible toyr - Great tour. A lot of people sign up and they send them out in groups of about 14. Our guide was “Me P”. He really made the trip enjoyable. The caves themselves are unbelievable and nearly indescribable. Not to be missed.

Interesting experience - We were definitely expecting to go into or onto the actual glacier, cause that’s how it sounded in the description. In the end we were in an ice cave that is dead ice, so ice that broke of the glacier 25 years ago. We were not really close to the active glacier. The ice cave itself was of course beautiful and fascinating and really special. But even if your group is only 10-14 people, there were at least 5 other groups in the cave as well, so it was really crowded. The host was really nice and the super-Jeep ride bumpy but fun.
