Glad I visited this lovely beach. - This beach is beautiful. It's a bit of a shame it is so crowded but you still feel like you are in an amazing and magical place.

Beaches - Both beaches are relatively empty and beautiful. A few minutes by car (20) towards Malia is also a beautiful sandy beach.

Long, but worth it - Long bus journey but so worth it! The beach was incredible, and the guide very knowledgeable and informative. The driver did a great job on a challenging route, and the views were breathtaking. Would recommend doing this trip - Elafonissi is out of this world.

Beautiful beach - A great way to experience Elafonisi beach with easy transportation! There is a little bit of a hike to and from the beach from the bus but nothing too crazy

Not to be missed - Long journey but with a 20-minute stop at a bar, where they make a good coffee, and with the companion telling you all about exclusion, the journey passes quietly. The 4 hours of travel will soon be forgotten as soon as you step on the wonderful beach of Elafonisi.

A well-planned day... - We were picked up on time at the meeting point. Our driver Nikos brought us safely - with a small toilet/drinking break - to the lagoon. Elisabetta, our very friendly and authentic guide, gave us information about the island and a few tips on staying in the lagoon while driving. The journey time of > 3 hours was quite long (but we knew that in advance). On a natural, small-stone footpath (gravel path) with a bit of a slope we walked for 7-10 minutes towards the turquoise sea. And yes, it really is a beautiful section ... the sand is fine and the sea crystal clear. There are a limited number of sunbeds and parasols at the stand (for people with disabilities there is a separate area with wooden slats). 2 sunbeds with 1 umbrella cost 20 euros as a set. Unfortunately, you're lying there like in a sardine can. As lunchtime approached, more tourists arrived. The length of stay was about 3.5 hours. Changing rooms are free on the beach. For the use of the toilets, 1 euro is due. Snacks/beverages were available at the bottom of the grid in September. The way back to the bus was quite arduous due to the heat and takes twice the time. At the arrival/pickup point there are shops and also a few toilets. On time we stopped at the hotel - with a short stopover - for dinner time. We thank you for the great and smooth day trip and will definitely book a trip via Viator again in the future.

More people than grains of sand. - The beach is definitely worth it. But way too many people crammed in there is room. It spoils the experience a bit. But 4 anyway.

Nice experience, just a long day! - Long journey! Started the day at 5;15 am, the itinerary mentioned 3hours 40 instead was 5 hrs with a quick toilet break. Arrive at the beach, advised it’s a 10min walk which was 15 which is fine. Wasn’t advised about the fee to hire the sun loungers 10€ pp. Good experience just disappointed that the beach is very light light pink!!! 🙄 Pretty different beach islands

Beautiful - The beach is very nice. There are areas with very shallow water and ways to get into deeper water. You can see the red-pink coloration of the sand in some places on the shore. It can get very, very crowded on site, so lying down are in short supply. You should think carefully if you need shade. If in doubt, there are a few shops on site at the parking lot where you can buy anything for the beach. The way to the beach knows a few special features- rugged rocky outcrops and fine, soft sand. A challenge for all mobility impaired, as well as families with prams. The bus tour itself is exhausting from Heraklion. A challenge for tall people. The distance between the seats is not comfortable. From about 1.80 m body length you have a problem to accommodate your knees without harassing your neighbor. And even then... The bus driver is great. The little break on the way can stretch out to. To be used, for more is hardly time and if there are more buses on site, also no possibility. The beach with offshore island is special, but you should not underestimate the long drive there.
