Easy escape into nature - We enjoyed this excursion very much. It’s a favorite memory of this trip to Helsinki for my nature-loving son. I recommend it if you want to see something outside the city without hassle. Very friendly for kids who have some attention span and ability to hike/walk. Details: We had good communication from the tour organizer, including messages about potential delays for our pickup. The drive to the forest was over 1.5 hours with a stretch break at a gas station. I enjoyed the hike. The park was peaceful with few people in it (perhaps with the weekday and the end of summer holidays). The hike itself is easy with a clear flat trail. There was a break halfway to rest and enjoy the scenery. No running water at the park but there are clean ‘dry toilets.’ The forest environment had lots of blueberries and lingonberries to pick on our visit. There were many mushroome to identify: brittle, boletus, shelf brackets, amanite, destroying angel. Alex our guide pointed out interesting details on the hike. He was very solicitous with our comfort and enjoyment of the excursion. He prepared a nice lunch of hot soup, bread, and a sweet. Overall, a good experience that matched my expectations!

Even the locals don't know about this secret retreat! A not-to-be-missed opportunity. - Beautiful, serene, peaceful, relaxing hike through the forest. Very personable and knowledgeable guide. Didn't see or hear any other people. The chanterelles were out. Our guide cooked what we picked over an open fire and made a delicious appetizer to go with a lovely lunch.

A great surprise by everything beyond expectation - Wanted to highlight the delicious mushrooms which we handpicked with Jeff all along the way! (made my best friend rice with them) The charm of Finnish forest can be spotted anywhere. Learnt new things and stories none stop. Lunch was beyond expectation (my bar had been set high already by another experience with the team the day before 😂). Won't spoil here since you gotta try yourself! As a nutritionist I couldn't complain a bit.

Perfect choice to feel relax - It was truly heart warming experience. Kiia was quite kind and professional to reply for my messages. Alex, the hiking guide was quite knowledgeable and taking care of all our group in quite considerable way. The lunch was awesome. The salmon soup was much more delicous than the one I ate in the renowned restaurant. The course was very very easy with tye greatest scenery. I really felt satisfied for choosing this course with Taiga tour. We found many mushrooms and berries as well. Kiitos.

If you have more than 2 days in Helsinki, make one of your days this! - Another glowing review to add to the many on this site. Clear communication beforehand, and overall a chance to not only have a bush/water/salmon soup experience, but to have a talk to a local Fin about life in Finland. Our guide made sure everyone felt comfortable, and we were not rushed at all during the day. Beautiful forest (coming from a New Zealander!) and lovely lunch. Rained a bit at the end, but was still awesome.

Preparation enhanced fun hike - Loved gentle hike through Finnish forest. Ate wild blueberries that lined the path, learned about different plants and animals we encountered along the way. We ate a delicious Finnish meal in a hut by a lake. I appreciated they were able to accommodate my dietary needs (dairy-free, no shellfish). The hike was very relaxed. The guide had ponchos for all of us since it rained during our hike. He also had sunscreen and insect repellent as well. The drive to the forest was two hours, and we had a rest stop for toilet breaks and last-minute shopping each way. They planned for everything, and we all had a wonderful time. Highly recommended!
