A great cultural experience! - My wife and I had a great experience. The staff was very friendly and knowledgeable. We had actually booked a 1pm appointment, but mistakenly thought it was for 10am, and arrived early. The staff easily accommodated us anyway. The kimono dress up and picture taking was fun, and the calligraphy class was very enjoyable and our instructor was very patient and insightful. I would highly recommend this activity to anyone visiting the Hiroshima/Miyajima area

A beautiful experience - We have the most beautiful experience. First our wonderful guide helped us choose and dress and their kimono. Followed by photographs in the shrine garden. Then it was time for our kanji calligraphy lesson. We had so much fun, we learnt the correct technique and were able to create our very own rice scoop to take home. We would wholeheartedly recommend this as an essential experience when visiting Japan.

LOVED the calligraphy class - Love, loved, loved the calligraphy class. The staff was very attentive and patient as we learned basic words to try on our own. Having to write on our own rice paddle was a nice touch as we got to bring home part of the memory. Highly recommend this activity.

Pleasant experience - It was a wonderful experience learning the strokes. We get to choose the kanji character and practice it before writing it on the wooden scoop. We get to write our name in hiragana or katakana as well! Overall, I loved it. Thanks for letting me pick a kanji character that was not on the list!

A magical place with a Zen quality and lovely people - This is a small intimate experience which I found to be joyous. My son and I learned so much and our teacher was just magical. I was hesitant about putting on a kimono at my age (69!) and my shape ( rounded in the middle area), but the ladies were so kind and gentle, they treated me like royalty. The actual process of brush work calligraphy is fascinating. This place is so very very special. If you want a calligraphic experience this is THE one to go to. It was dream come true for me, it will be in my memories forever.

An afternoon of culture - A little tricky to find, but well worth the effort. My son and I had a wonderful time dressing in kimonos and practicing calligraphy. The ladies there were so warm and welcoming.

Great fun! - We had so much fun wearing beautiful kimonos and doing calligraphy. We got to pick the fabrics for our kimonos ourself. Our teacher was a funny, sweet lady and she was very helpful. It was a super fun experience, and I recommend everyone who visit Japan to do this at least once!

Best experience ever. - When we got there, the Japanese ladies helped us get into our Kimonos, and then we went into a typical tea room and learned how to write Kanji.
