Adventure, fun, warm and cold! - Jodie was a top tour guide. So much knowledge and you could hear her very well. Jodie gave us lots of tips on how to enjoy our day and how to save time to make the most of the day. It was an adventure packed day for a 59 year old woman and her 60 year old husband. You do need to be fit to enjoy the day. Wear comfortable shoes and layer your clothing, the caves were cold but a must see. The walks were warm, a very beautiful day for us. Thank you!

Highly recommend - Was a great tour with a lot packed in. Jodie the tour guide was great and knew a lot about the area. Stopping for fresh apples was great and the apple/raspberry pie at the end of the trip was delicious. The Caves were amazing.

Great tour - Wonderful tour. Jodi was great; fun and knowledgable. The stops and activities felt well planned as there is a rhythm between the forest and the caves.

Highly Recommended :) - This tour is well recommended. This day-tour was well worth the $396 for a couple (us). We took it on Sun 1 Dec 2024. We took the bus tour 9 hours round trip, so that we did not have to drive (this day, anyway). Pickup was very near our hotel (Salamanca, Hobart), at 10 to 8 sharp. We were the last pickup, so we left immediately with 12 people on board. The driver was a local Aussie / Tassie, and had a lot of the history which he shared (with jokes, of course). Thank you, mate. First stop was breakfast at Banjo's in Kinston (own cost). Then the Tahune Forest Walk (highly recommended). Then the Hastings Caves (highly recommended). The Thermal Springs (at Hastings Caves) was NOT included, and no time allowed anyway. Then stopped at a Franks Cider Bar and Café (we purchased the Cider taste paddle, and the Apple pie and ice cream was on the house!). Then return to Hobart, 5pm. Tassie Tours Tasmania has purchased the tour, and now operates it (and many others). We had one complaint: The bus was really old - we called it "Shake, Rattle, Rock 'n Roll" ! It was a rough ride. Tassie Tours - time to upgrade this bus. Please.

Interesting trip, driver very informative - Not being able to do cave walk because on reaching 1st platform I felt dizzy and a headache. Tasting Paddle was far too much for solo person and that should be taken into account, especially as free tasting is available at Bar of premises, so solo person can just taste 1 if desired.

Not worth it. - Jodie was our guide for the day. The van was packed and both the aisle and seats were too cramped and uncomfortable to hold that many people. I was repeatedly kicked by male guests when they entered the van due to the narrow aisle. There wasn't much to see at Tahune and there was no guide so it was just a walk among a forest. You could see the destruction caused by a fire years ago. Didn't see any animals in the forest. Hastings cave had too many people. It would be better if they admitted less people per guided tour. Overall I didn't enjoy this trip but the guide Jodie worked hard and tried her best. I wish the tour company ran smaller groups as the van ride was too cramped. The last stop (apple pie at Frank's Cidar) was my only highlight.
