Great Food and Great Sights - This was an excellent food tour that really focused on the depth and variety that Vietnamese cuisine has to offer. We did this tour in July, and I highly recommend that you do this tour in the evening. The heat in Hanoi is no joke. Also, bring a poncho or an umbrella because we did get caught in a thunderstorm! Despite the challenges (storm and heat), our guide, Apple, was always upbeat, friendly, and knowledgeable. She was open to questions and took time to explain each dish (and how to properly eat it). Ending the tour with a visit at Train Street was pretty epic. Don't miss this one.

Surprises and fond memories. Thank you Elena! - When we happened to step into Bun Cha Ta for the fourth stop of our food tour, a warmth spread over me. I had just eaten sand worm pancakes and was about to try (and learn the recipe for) egg coffee - both were delicious. However, the Bun Cha gave me the confidence that I was on a well organized tour arranged by foodies for foodies. Elena started us off with a happy drink, taught us recipes, answered questions and helped us weave our way through the mopeds as we crossed Hanoi’s streets. From our 8 year old daughter, through her three older siblings, to my wife and I, we all enjoyed the food and the experience, and all felt full by the sixth stop. Despite the crowds, there were always seats waiting for us, and while we didn’t feel rushed, we were able to walk leisurely, ask questions and still finished on time: ten minutes before the train passed. Photo opps galore. Thanks to Elena for making us all welcome, and for opening up Vietnamese cuisine for us.

Do this on your first day! - We booked the Food Tour the same evening that we arrived. With hindsight, that was the best decision we could have made. Our tour guide (Eleanor - apologies I could be so wrong with this!) was great, really good knowledge and English to explain it to us! 8 stops and we tried food that wouldn’t think of trying otherwise. We revisited several places we stopped on the tour. A perfect start to our stay in Hanoi!

Intro to Vietnamese Food Culture - The tour guide was great. She gave background on the type of food I was eating. Had some favorites and not some. But overall, it was a great experience as it introduced me to the Vietnamese food culture. At the end of the trip, she gave me information on places we visited in case I wanted to try them again.

- It was a well-planned tour. Our guide, Apple, took us to 8 different spots to try out stellar Vietnamese food. We were wondering how she could make all of that fit within 3 hours but we were pleasantly surprised. We ended up with really full stomachs and we used the tour as the guide for the rest of our meals during our 5-day Hanoi trip. Especially tasty were the Bun Cha, the Banh Cuon, and the Nom Bo Kho. Apple also did not hesitate to give us a written list of the food we ate and her recommendations that were not part of the food tour. This was such an amazing way to explore the city's culture whilst satisfying our palates!
