Hoa Lu Ancient Capital & Tam Coc Boat Trip

Hoa Lu Ancient Capital - Just a couple of hours’ drive from Hanoi, the tour ventures into Vietnam’s scenic countryside. Explore Hoa Lu, the ancient capital of Vietnam during the Dinh and Le dynasties, before embarking on a sampan trip down the Tam Coc River. Known as the ‘Halong Bay on Land,’ this area is renowned for its enchanting grottoes and limestone karst mountains.
Depart from the hotel around 08:00 for the 2-hour drive through rural northern Vietnam. Visit Hoa Lu, where temples are dedicated to Emperor Dinh Tien Hoang of the Dinh Dynasty (968-80) and Emperor Le Dai Hanh of the Le Dynasty (980-1009). If time allows after visiting Hoa Lu, take a half-hour walk up one of the surrounding limestone karst hills; a challenging but rewarding climb with breathtaking views. (A moderate level of physical fitness is required.)

Tam Coc - After visiting the ancient capital, continue to Tam Coc Town for a Vietnamese-style lunch. There will be plenty of opportunities to stop for photographs of the villages and landscapes along the way. Enjoy a boat ride in Tam Coc, visit the cave, Bich Dong Pagoda, and then cycle around the village and countryside. Relax until it’s time to return to Hanoi and be dropped off at your hotel. Overnight in Hanoi.

Hanoi to Halong Bay Natural Heritage & Overnight on Cruise

Halong Bay - Recognized by UNESCO as a World Natural Heritage site and voted as a Wonder of Nature by the New7Wonders Foundation, Halong Bay offers a memorable overnight stay.
After breakfast in Hanoi, depart for the 3hr 30mins drive to Halong Bay. Arrive at Halong City’s jetty around noon and complete check-in formalities. After a warm welcome onboard, lunch will be served while cruising towards the bay. In the afternoon, enjoy sightseeing, onboard activities (depending on each boat’s itinerary), or simply relax on the vessel. As the day ends, the boat anchors for the night among the karst formations. Dinner is served on board.

Halong Activities and Return to Hanoi

Halong Bay - Early risers can witness a stunning sunrise over the karst formations of Halong Bay. Breakfast will be served shortly after.
Enjoy breakfast (or brunch on some boats) as the vessel cruises slowly through the magnificent rock formations back towards the port. Upon arrival at the harbor, transfer back to Hanoi.
